Just to be clear, if Ds hang onto either house, we are calling it a victory.

If Ds hang onto both Houses, we are calling it a complete rejection of the R. point of view.
Right?

12. As long as we hold on to the presidency
we'll call it a victory regardless of outcome. The more expectations are raised for the repukes, the easier it will be to paint this as a "victory" for us.

11. Also, if the Rangers score a run tonight, we'll say they won the Series

30. "Spinning it"
yeah a euphemism for "fooling yourself". How hard is it for Democrats to say that if they lost it might just be because they didn't do a good enough job? Wait I know the answer... IT'S TOO ****ING HARD. It'll be easier to blame the gays.

16. When I was a defense attorney...
...a verdict that came back with less liability than the prosecutor's best offer was a victory. I think the Ds holding off the predicted R landslide will be a victory in reality.

19. Well, in your expert opinion as a defense attorney...
what would you call it when you practically sweep a party off the map, elect a hugely popular president with a historic mandate and give him both houses of Congress with the largest majorities in a generation... and then piss that all away in just two years?

Hell if they only win one seat they will declare victory.

Wait, what? Anyone know what this DUmbass is talking about? Since when is 52% a mandate? And which party was "swept off the map?"

This is what gets me; the Bostonian Drunkard similarly alleged the Big Zero had won in a "landslide."
And then of course there was Pedro Picasso, the "Atman" primitive, who alleged the Impeached One had won in a "landslide" in both 1992 and 1996, when in fact the Impeached One was the only two-term president to not win a 50%+1 majority at least once in the two elections, in American history, being elected both times with less than a majority of the popular vote.
Professional political scientists define "landslide" as 55%+ of the vote in a race.
The last presidential landslide was for George Bush, in 1988.

Victory for these idiots will eventually boil down to waking up with enough dope to load a bowl.

Hell if they only win one seat they will declare victory.
After wasting my time reading this stupid thread, I hope they lose every single one of them.

OK, tough love time, listen up, if you don't gain 1 seat in the House or the Senate it's a loss!

The rich kid the grazing primitive, the "jgraz" primitive, is correct in stating that the Big Zero, in his non-landslide presidential win, brought with him the largest Dem majorities in Congress since the presidency of the Incompetent One during the late 1970s.
Which has always made allegations of "Republican obstructionism" specious, even silly.
With Republicans in a substantial minority, how could they obstruct anything?
I suspect that if the primitives looked at the facts as the facts are, rather than as they wish the facts to be, the primitives would find enduring the facts of Tuesday much more bearable.

I guess the Dems will be teh winnah then, because that seat in New Orleans that was won by the Vietnamese Republican guy last time around will probably fall back to the Dems.

The DUmmies are clinging onto anything to make this a victorious day for them. Somehow, I don't think it will happen to be a good night for them. ;D
