That's pretty much what I have. My PC is connected to my LCD TV and  my stereo (which IS capable of surround sound) I stream movies and such from my PC to my TV& Stereo. It's quite easy once you have the right video output and cabling. Amazon is your friend when it comes to cables, too!! I got a 25 ft HDMI cable for some $7. The stores charge WAY more !!

When we first switched back to Comcast they wanted $85 for a 6ft HDMI cable. WTF?

Thieves...... even Best Buy  or Walmart is pretty expensive for HDMI cables.

$6 for a 25 ft cable (+ shipping)

I don't think I need a 40 drive aray but you never know (one of the options I saw) .  :-) Very interesting link I will add to my av list.  I currently have a setup similar to Thor using an inexpensive Tiger Direct barebox with a gig of ram and wireless mouse / keyboard. It works great for streaming Hells Kitchen and other such HULU content to the 32" Toshiba LCD.  Darn if I remember what the processor.
