Does anybody want Progressive Radio?
According to Ed Shultz on his radio show this morning he stated that no progressive radio stations are coming because there is such a strong anti-obama sentiment in the country. Here in Phoenix KPHX seems to be off the air at least for a period of hours or longer. According to what I was told Newcomb said on his show that he hadn't been on air much lately because of business reasons but he was taking care of that. I am no fan of Newcomb, but I will give him credit for trying since I have tried as others to get a successful progressive station here and it isn't easy. I finally decided that it was unlikely because it is too hard to get support from those who have the money and the ones most likely to support you don't have the money. I don't really know that the progressive business community really wants progressive radio. What do you folks think?
Wow. That's some epic fail right there.
Obama killed Err America before he was even elected president.

2. Santa Barbara's progressive radio changed to Hispanic music.
One morning I tune in on the way to work and I thought I was not tuning in correctly. Here one day and gone the next.

3. Liberal talk isn't fake controversial or bullshit lie stuff. It's about depressing
real life stuff like low wages, environment, education & other practical unfunny matters. After listening to numerous tries over the years & also Pacifica, IMHO it has no "entertainment" value & thus no general audience.
Or maybe people are tired of being told they have to pay more money because it's their fault you live off of welfare for decades at a time.

5. Yep,
We're information mavens, not drama queens. Ergo, what we talk about isn't generally addicting in the same way Fux Snooze is addicting to their audience.
One must be quite limber to pat one's self on the back while simultaneously jerking off.

Edited for clarity.

Conservative radio could be depressing as hell. I suppose the difference is we have real solutions to the problems that are addressed so it makes it more hopeful, light hearted, fun, and informative. It also helps that we have a sense of humor and can laugh at absuridty.
I have tuned into lib shows before and the difference is huge. They pretty much just whine and have no real solutions to anything.

Maybe you can call up George Soros and he can waste, I mean,...start up a "progressive" radio show for you. You can start off each show with quotes from 'The Communist Manifesto' and spew all hatred for America and it's values, you DUchebags! :censored:

Not sure if I understand what the OP DUmmie is saying, but Err America failed long before there was anti-Obama sentiment. Progressive talk radio fails because Progessivism is an illusion and the more it is discussed, the more obvious it becomes.
We had a liberal station here and right now the only liberal hosts on it are Sly in the morning (a local area lib) and the Allen Colmes show at night. In between it carries two hours of Glenn Beck, three hours of Dennis Miller, a couple of hours of radio for drunk Wisconsinites, and a couple of hours of Dr. Drew Pinski (sp?). Oh, and late night they have Laura Ingraham.

Back when I was young and dumb in California, I used to listen to Pacifica/KPFA rebroadcast out of Berkeley. It's like an ultra communist NPR on crack. Mark Mericle, the guy who reads the news, has the most annoying whiny delivery you could ever imagine.

Those who have the money don't support the lib agenda, and they certainly don't want to waste money advertising to those listening who don't have any money. Only on Skin's island is this some type of brilliant observation.

Perhaps his Prius had a power spike and fried the tuner.
Or he just couldn't hit the right button on his 1968 Dodge Dart radio because of all the bumper stickers on it, holding it together.
Or he forgot to turn on the converter so he could hear FM thru his AM radio.
No matter. It's all Bush's Faulttm.

Thought I'd just help the DUmmy clarify his thoughts a little.
All better.

At one time, one of our chemists would play NPR on his office radio. I nearly fell asleep on my feet just walking through the lab.

BF works in a C&C shop. He brought in a radio to keep by his station. As you can imagine, reception sucks in there. Sometimes, when he gets tired of the one or two stations he can listen to, he will flip over to NPR. If Diane Rehm is on, it will quickly get changed. No one in that shop can stand her. They call her the drunk one. :-)

This is a pretty good illustration of why:

1. I thought I was progressive but the progressive yap has turned me off!
Progressives just want to dislike Obama and the Dems and give power to the TB repukes.
Sorry progressives you are so negative and throw our own under the bus - it is almost being hypocritical.
I know what you are going to say - so let me make my comment. Sometimes you have to go along for the ride.
I am sorry you don't like it - but you can't keep support if you don't support.

4. What are you talking about? If you really listen to the callers of progressive radio
and most of the hosts they are saying, they are disappointed in some of Obama's policies but we have to get behind the Dems and vote like there is no tomorrow.
I don't think you know what you're talking about!
Oooo, you pinko Commie progressive bastard!! It's all your fault!
Oooo, you evil, reicht-wing DLC Blue Dog!! It's all YOUR fault!

Which is sad because the wife and I like to go to the Best Western on Rockaway Beach. However, since they have a great restaurant, we never have to go into town! :-)

Progressive Radio........ tried and FAILED...... 'nuff said.......

I'd have to say I'd prefer that to the Blaupunkt POS that came with my current ride, instead of letting a weak signal through it decides to just cut the station out entirely and go dead-air or pick up some near-match on the frequency band and walk it all over the station I want to hear.
