Confrontation with a Reich-winger
Edited on Tue Oct-26-10 11:36 AM by DainBramaged
Here's the set up, I'm puting Office on one of the laptops, customer is spouting off to no one in articular how everyone is tired of the Democrats.
Me: And why do you think everyone is tired? Early voting shows a larger turnout nationwide by Democratic voters than Republicans....
Him: That's a lie.
Me: is Fox News the only station you watch?
Him: What does that have to do with anything, the people want Obama out.
Me: Apparently the people voted him in two years ago.
Him: Not my people
Me: You mean rich white Republicans?
Him: begins cursing, goes outside.
End of show. Lots of smiles in the waiting room after he left.

Actually here's what happened.
DUmmy: And why do you think everyone is tired? Early voting shows a larger turnout nationwide by Democratic voters than Republicans....
Conservative: And the exit polls showed John Kerry won in 2004.
D: Diebold stole the election.
C: They are going to steal this one too.
D: *Stomps out in a rage*
Everyone in the room laughs and says, "Can you believe that nutjob?"

Lemmie guess:
The 72 year-old gentleman was there to bring his 52 year-old hippie son into the methadone clinic. And, you were there for the same 'fix'...

With Bible in hand, a fundie discusses politics with me
While we were waiting to see a doctor at the Boston VA, I overheard two wing-nuts discussing politics. One said that Obama's problem is that he tries to be a "peacemaker." I guess he forgot to read the part that says, "blessed are the peacemakers."
I stayed out of the conversation until the one with Bible in hand began blaming the "welfare state" for all our economic problems. When he said that I stated that two multi-trillion dollar wars were the real problem. I said these wars will last 100 years or until they bankrupt the US. I also mentioned that all those jobs Bush exported to China didn't help matters much.
He said we needed the wars to keep us safe from terrorism. I told him that each person we kill in Iraq or Afghanistan creates more terrorists because their friends and relatives retaliate.
He finally asked what I thought of Obama Care. I said I didn't know enough about it to comment intelligently: But it wouldn't affect VA patients.
I don't think I changed anyone's mind. But I had to speak up for my beliefs.
Was I wrong?

5. Ironic that you are having this discussion at a VA hospital.
I bet someone out there would consider this fellow to be the recipient of a welfare state.
Yeah people at DU think like that.

Yeah, I just read that. I have a feeling the DUmmies will be creating a lot of bouncies before next Tuesday, just to make them feel more confident when they know deep down that they are going to take a beating at the polls.
-
Too bad that the CBO came out with figures that completely refute that claim and put the total dollar amount spent on the failed stimulus in one year was more than the eight years of the Afghan/Iraq war. Also put more peole to work than the stimulus.

I give that one 3 Obama Bouncys...

Here's the set up, I'm puting Office on one of the laptops, customer is spouting off to no one in articular how everyone is tired of the Democrats.
Me: And why do you think everyone is tired? Early voting shows a larger turnout nationwide by Democratic, LGBT, Vegan, and Transgender voters than Republicans....
Him: That's nice, got some numbers?
Me: is Fox News the only station you watch?
Him: What does that have to do with anything, the people want Obama out. Do you only watch FSTV?
Me: Apparently the people voted him in two years ago.
Him: Not my people, but judging by your looks, you still have a Rainbow sticker on your Yugo.
Me: You mean rich white Republicans?
Him: He shakes his head, mumbles "stupid DUmmie" goes outside, where the cops hiding in the bushes jump out, comfront him, and after talking come after me!
End of show. Lots of smiles in the waiting room after I left.

Count on it.

We can have some fun with this, then. Let's come up with a few time periods. For example, for a 24-hour period, to be determined as GMT, how many bouncies will they spin? As the Day of Reckoning draws nearer, we'd have to ramp up the number--well, the over/under. Then, the total number of bouncies until Reckoning Day is done, in the Pacific Time Zone.
I say 65.5 is the O/U for the week until 12 AM, November 3rd, in the Pacific Time Zone. Over or under?
