Title: A troubling trend developing
Post by: DLR Pyro on October 25, 2010, 10:26:24 AM
States weigh letting non citizens vote (http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2010/10/24/states-weigh-letting-noncitizens-vote/)
I saw this article and was troubled that this is even being considered.  If you read the article you get the impression that the "poor immigrant" highlighted in the article sees himself as a victim because he can't vote in our elections.

This portion of the article really jumped out at me.  I have highlighted the areas of concern to me
Quote
On a recent day in a small lunchroom at the Al-Amin Halal Market, a group of Somali men ate lunch and talked in their native language. A sign advertised the day's offerings, including hilib ari (goat), bariis (rice) and baasto (spaghetti).

Abdirizak Daud, 40, moved to Minneapolis 18 years ago before coming to Portland in 2006. He hasn't been able to find a job. Some of his nine children have attended Portland schools, and he'd like to have a say in who's looking over the school system and the city, he said.

But between his limited English and the financial demands, Daud hasn't been able to become a citizen.

"I like the Democrats. I want to vote for Democrats, but I don't have citizenship," he said.

This assclown barely speaks English,  doesn’t work (i.e. doesn’t contribute to society), yet has bred at a prodigious rate and is sending his 9 kids to public school on our dime and feels he has the right to have a say the education system.  Big surprise he favors the democrats…

I see this mentality as one of the biggest threats to this Nation.  Right now, the Constitution prohibits non-citizens from voting in Federal elections, but how soon will it be before the democrats begin to mis-interpret the Constitution and open up Federal elections to any swinging dick who happens to be in the Country, legally or illegally?

Sometime in the next two months....or shortly after losing this election.....they need more voters....they aren't enough dead voters any more.

As if we don't have enough problems with our politically uninformed and illiterate voters on the rolls legally right now.  Of course, if it benefits Dems, it's okay  :p

Odd how the non citizens get a chance to vote, yet our men and women fighting for America can't get the ballots sent to them?!? It's a disgrace.  :censored:

If he came to this country at age 22, chances are all 9 of those kids have been born in the US in the last 18 years....therefore all 9 of them are US citizens...

To a man who is not a citizen....but his kids most likely would qualify to receive any US government assistance available to children.

Wonder if this non-citizen pays any federal/state income tax? IF he has maintained a job during those 18 years?

And he wants to vote too?

Be my guest.....right after he learns to speak English and becomes a US citizen. If he'd stop having kids he might have a bit more time to learn English and improve his financial situation.  ::)

Well it's easy to explain. The soldiers would probably have a majority voting GOP the non citizens will vote for the Dems.

It is not just the fact that they do, it is also the fact that they do it so openly. Election laws are not being enforced :banghead:

Maine?  Why am I not surprised?  And those asshats in Augusta wonder why people are leaving the state in droves.
