Here's A Chart Showing What a Tiny Portion of NPR's Funding Comes From The Government   Updated at 5:59 PM

NPR's revenue comes primarily from fees paid by our member stations, contributions from corporate sponsors, institutional foundation grants, gifts from major donors, and fees paid by users of The Public Radio Satellite System. We receive no direct federal funding for operations. The largest share of NPR's revenue comes from program fees and station dues paid by member stations that broadcast NPR programs.

More details here: http://www.npr.org/about/aboutnpr/publicradiofinances.h...

Yet you goons cry about a tiny portion of the money the chamber of commerce has coming from other countries.

5. How's this for a great idea:

Let the righties SUCCEED at stopping the govt funding for NPR. Then "we" take over NPR. Let Soros buy it. Put Phil Donahue and Bill Press in as the head of it. Let the tilt be totally progressive. Then the stupid pubbies will howl with indignation when they find out what they've done.

I can live with that idea. it should be as successful as Err Amurica.

8. You're so right. In attacking NPR, the wingnuts are mostly attacking themselves.

I think Jim DeMint has a bill coming up that is to cut off government funding for them....get government out of the propaganda business.

Then it shouldn't matter much at all if that "tiny portion" became "non-existent", would it.

I guess the "right people" weren't running it the first time, but this time, really, not like last time.

Since we "wingnuts" don't listen to nor care to listen to NPR, I have no idea what she meant.  None whatsoever.  Just makes you want to   and wonder  :wtf2:

Somehow I doubt that Soros got where he is by making foolish business decisions.

He USED to fund Dimocrat candidates, but he said "No mas" to this year.

Maybe the light bulb finally came on, or got changed.

Great, guess there's no problem in cutting off all Gov't funding to it then!  Thanks for the green light, DU!  Oh, and they need to go through the same crap any other public access channel does for their licence from now on without any priority or automatic grant from the FCC (I'm being generous on even equating them to public access since they would really operating as a nonprofitable commercial venture of Soros Inc. rather than as a true nonprofit, I know).

That is a GREAT idea Chipper!!
You and all your communists friends can fund that garbage. We'll sit back and watch it fail like the rest of the MSM. Sounds like a plan to me!
