A California judge ordered troubled actress Lindsay Lohan back to rehab until January of 2011 in lieu of sending her back to jail for failing a mandatory drug test last month.
This will not help her at all. She will die of this addiction at this rate.

What is this "rehab" and how come it never works? These celebtards go in, come out and go right back to whatever they were doing. What happens in this "rehab" and why is it court-approved? The only rehab I ever saw work was Robert Downey, Jr's prison stint.

I read this too.....Her next starring role is supposed to be in a biopic on porn actress Linda Lovelace.
That to me seems to be close to "rock bottom"

You know I do agree. This is her 4th? attempt at rehab. At some point you have to realize it won't work. She needs what anyone else in her shoes would've gotten.
I do hope she pulls through. She got a shit deal on the parents. Many people do, but they don't have the "celebrity" to go with it. She's old enough now to take responsibility. She has to want it though or be so down and out (jail) that she has no other choice. If she doesn't kill herself with drugs, I can see her killing herself on her own. She needs a reality check.

My basic rule of life:
If you have more than a million bucks clear of the IRS, you DON'T HAVE A PROBLEM.
Try worrying about making the RENT when you are out of work.
Try getting the medication for the baby at 3:30 in the morning.
Sorry, I have no patience nor sympathy for people that can afford to buy their way out of trouble. At the same time, I have no time to waste on her life beyond this post. I could care less about her politics, her family, or whatnot. If she has a dog, then I'd be far more worried. (A kid would probably have been taken away from her by now).
Anyway, I'm done.

The problem with most rehab programs is their only focus is to get the person "clean and sober" in a 28 day period.
The individual is confined for the first 5-7 days while they are detoxed. Many programs use additional drugs for this process. The next 21 days are spent attending "group" therapy, while on a tight time schedule....the entire day is totally scheduled for the entire patient population. Almost every minute is scheduled from the specified time to rise to the specified time of "lights out".
The patient is usually not allowed a family visit for the first 14-21 days.....and no phone calls the first 7.
At the end of 28 days...the patient is discharged.
That's it.
It's no wonder that the level of success is so low. The only accomplishment is that the individual can pass a drug test when they walk out the door.
Most rehab places have little to no concern with the "why".....why the person used the drugs/alcohol, why the person is self-destructive, why the person continues to go back to the substance abuse.
Their only goal is to turn out a sober person....at which most have a 100% success rate. The fact that 80% or more, are back using drugs/alcohol within a short time period, is not their problem nor is it reflected in their advertised "success rate".
Lohan is going to Betty Ford which has a pretty good reputation....though incredibly expensive....as it is an extensive program, and people are often there for longer than 28 days. From what I have read about them, they also try to help the individual find the reasons for their self-destruction. She has been able to walk out of the
other programs she's been in....this time she is there for at least 60 days, and I think that she will have to be there over the holidays, may be a good thing for her. It will keep her from being her parents' "football".
Without finding out the "why"....most people are unable to resist the temptation of the drug of choice/alcohol. The "why" has to be conquered even moreso than the drug. And the "want to conquer" must also be there...though sometimes the individual can't see a reason to "want" because they can't figure out the "why" on their own.

And her little sister is 16 maybe, and has been photographed smoking and out at bars. Be a mother DINA and stop this mess. You've seen what it has done for your oldest daughter. Care. You brought these kids into this world.
Someone above mentioned her having lots of money, so she doesn't understand real problems. I don't agree with that. This girl has a real problem. Not the same kinda problem the guy downtown sleeping on the bench has, but still a bad life threathing (at this point) problem. It looks like she is almost too far gone now, and I hope that isn't the case. I am not a fan of her, but I do wish her to get well. And that may mean getting away from her parents and Hollywood.

Didn't one of her parents get put in charge of her finances a couple of years ago? I seem to remember hearing about it and wondered how any sane judge could put either one of those piranhas in charge of the girl's money!! If either still are, it's no wonder they aren't exerting any effort to help her, they will get all her money (if there is any left) if anything happens to her. :(
