“The Tea Party movement has unleashed a still inchoate political movement who are in their numerical majority, angry middle-class white people who believe their country, their nation, has been taken from them,” argues the report, called Tea Party Nationalism.
Written by Leonard Ziskind, who has written extensively on white nationalism, the report looks at what it calls six nationwide Tea Party networks at the core of the movement. It says that leaders of all but one — FreedomWorks, a libertarian group in Washington headed by Dick Armey, a former House majority leader – have raised questions about President Obama’s birth certificate or have ties to white supremacist groups.
The N.A.A.C.P. also points to signs at Tea Party rallies with explicitly racist or racially charged language. It notes that several black congressmen accused Tea Party supporters of shouting racial epithets at them in March, during a rally against health care legislation on Capitol Hill.

Tea Party Nationalism is a new report by Devin Burghart, Leonard Zeskind and the Institute for Research & Education on Human Rights that exposes the connection between numerous tea party leaders and racism.

Looks like someone jumped the gun in their eagerness to slander the Tea Party. Also, questioning Obama's birth is racist now. Who knew?

Nothing like biased reporting from a biased entity. What about that college girl that did a study that showed the exact opposite?? I don't believe that she was affiliated with the TEA Party, if I recall correctly.

Gee, how ironic that the n.a.a.c.p., an organization whose stated purpose is the advancement of colored people is trying to shine a spotlight in another group of people because they preceive them to be made up of predominately white people. Pot, meet kettle.

Does anyone think that it is possible that this leonard ziskind might have a slight obsession on painting white people in a bad light?

All of Zeskind's 'books' were published by the Center for Democratic Renewal. He and his cronies tried this before.
A significant deception occurs when the extremist enemies of another extremist group attempt to perfume themselves with a "human rights" cover. Such is the case with an anti-Ku Klux Klan group whose ties with various Marxist-Leninist groups suggest a possible hidden agenda at least as extreme, if not more so, than the group it targets.
Center For Democratic Renewal (CDR), Atlanta, GA, was formerly the Anti-Klan Network. Its research director is Lenny Zeskind. who was formerly publisher of The Hammer, an "anti-fascist" magazine in Kansas City, MO. In the past several years. Zeskind has established himself as an authority on right-wing extremism. The public record of Lenny Zeskind shows that in 1978 he was on the editorial board of Urgent Tasks: Journal of the Revolutionary Left, a publication of the Chicago-based Marxist-Leninist group, the Sojourner Truth Organization. Zeskind also ran notices in The Hammer promoting Searchlight, a UK-based "anti-fascist" magazine with a long history of support from Marxist-Leninist groups, including the Communist Party.
A close Zeskind Associate is Chip Berlet, founding member of Chicago Friends of Albania, which operates as an unregistered agent for one of the most repressive regimes in the world. Berlet is with Political Research Associates, Cambridge, MA, and a member of the National Lawyers Guild (NLG) which is afÞliated with the Soviet-controlled International Association of Democratic Lawyers. Berlet was publisher of an expose charging that "anti-Semites, Fascists and Nazi collaborator Quietly Recruited Into Republican Party," which made headlines just prior to the 1988 presidential election.

According to reports, Zeskind spent the 1980s as a member of one pro-Stalinist group who worked to provoke the Ku Klux Klan and stir up racial tensions between blacks and whites. In 1986, this National Anti-Klan Network changed its name to a more benevolent-sounding Center for Democratic Renewal. At the same time, Zeskind’s co-author, Burghart, expanded his work studying “white nationalism†to include condemning anti-illegal immigration groups like the Minutemen on the country’s southern border, claiming the group was not patrolling the border to enforce American immigration laws, but only to prevent non-whites from entering. According to Burghart, the Minutemen represented “Klan-style†border patrol.While working for the Center for New Community, Burghart participated in programs of the Center for Democratic Values, the think-tank arm of the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA).

The ex worked for a company that was affiliated with the NAACP. Oh, the stories, especially at the national level.
