om Bosley the folksy father of Richie Cunningham on the '70s sitcom about the '50s, ABC's Happy Days, died Tuesday in his Palm Springs, Calif., home. On Oct. 1 he had turned 83.
The actor died of a staph infection, according to TMZ, which first reported his death.

He also did a 1969 Night Gallery episode where he played a down on his luck man who sells his eyes to a wealthy woman played by Joan "No Wire Hangers!" Crawford. The episode was called "Eyes" and was directed by an unknown dirctor named Steven Spielberg.
