There has been no jump in government spending. Period.
Edited on Mon Oct-18-10 07:27 PM by Kurt_and_Hunter
The deficit is up because LESS MONEY IS COMING IN because THE ECONOMY BLEW UP.
The increase in federal spending has been almost all relief related transfer payments——when 10% of the country is unemployed the cost of unemployment benefits goes up. And medicare goes up as more people become eligible because they have BECOME POOR.
The rate-of-increase of federal spending is the same the last two years as it was under Bush. ( http://krugman.blogs.nytimes.com/2010/10/17/why-have-de... / )
State and local governments have cut so that the total of national government spending is DOWN.
The private sector stopped borrowing so national indebtedness is way DOWN.
Taxes are obviously way down. We were taking in 5,000 billion/year as of the beginning of 2008. It is currently about 3,900 billion.
Yes, our tragically over-taxed populace is ponying up 1.1 TRILLION FEWER total federal tax dollars than they were during the last year of Bush.
Almost everything about the federal budget during the Obama administration that is "known" by everyone is delusional crap.

2. that one teabag lady on real time kept trying to say the deficit has
exploded under obama. she cited the bank bailouts and the auto bailouts. markos and john legend attempted to explain to her that those were loans and have been paid back and the government actually made money. but she persisted. but when asked she only mentioned cutting 'entitlements' but no specifics of course. she said we couldn't possibly cut defense spending because the government is supposed to protect us!
i would argue that bush by separating the war spending from the budget kept the true deficit artificially low and when obama corrected this and added the spending to the budget it of course increased the number because it had been cooked by the bush administration. people who claim that they want to cut spending are full of it. when republicans say they want to cut spending they are full of it. they want to put it on the credit card and leave us with the tab. they want the rich to keep their money and make the rest of us pay for everything they want to spend on.

3. Check out this chart:
http://krugman.blogs.nytimes.com/2010/10/17/why-have-de...
The Krugman chart conveniently peters out before ObamaCoup sets in but it clearly shows government expenditures rising to over $5 trillion/year.
Oddly it also shows receipts rising except when private business took it between the cheeks with the collapse of the housing bubble.
It also shows expenditures outstripping receipts the whole time.
It's inexplicable why expenditures continue to rise as receipts tank.
That fact that expenditures rise while receipts tank show that there is, in fact, A MASSIVE ****ING DEFICIT AND OBAMA & CO. MADE IT SO!
I'm not sure what Dipshit & DUmbass are trying to prove.

5. Actually throughout history....
It's Republican presidents who spend out of control and don't seem to give a flying **** about paying for the spending....and tea party people are repubs shich makes no sense....they are fake!
Throughout history, DUmbass, it is congress that writes the spending bills. And yes the GOP congress of 2001 to 2006 was horrid, that's why we threw them out.

Under the change of 2006 and the donk congress the federal budget has increased over 38% in three years. I have heard estimates that if the commies in congress had voted in a budget it would have been 52% bigger than 07.

I am now retired....not working....investments are &%$#...income is in the tank...soooo I need to get out there and spend more...right?....right?.... Well?

If they had voted a budget....exactly, but they didn't.
Continuing resolution of 2007Summary (how summaries work)
In early 2007, the newly-elected, Democratic-controlled House and Senate were forced to address agency budgets for FY 2007 through a CR. Budgets for the various executive branch agencies were set to be approved before October 1, 2006 (the first day of FY 2007), but the Republican-controlled House and Senate passed only two of the necessary eleven spending bills. A CR was passed on December 8, 2006 to continue to fund the government at FY 2006 levels through February 15, 2007. On January 31, 2007, the House passed a $463 billion CR to fund each of the nine agencies through the remainder of FY 2007.

Continuing resolution of 2008Summary (how summaries work)
The FY 2009 continuing resolution was a measure designed to allow Congressional leaders to work around the 2008 presidential election and deflect spending fights with President Bush during his last months in office. Foreseeing a repeat of budget fights over FY 2007 and FY 2008, the Democratic leadership in the House and Senate chose not to pursue several appropriations bills leading up to the 2008 summer recess. The only appropriations bill sent to President Bush for his signature was the 2008 Defense authorization bill

Sadly you will see no mention of this by the nutless, gutless, dump dwellers. It is the job of the Democrat Socialist apparatchik to keep useful idiots sufficiently busy with red herring such as this bs or the foreign money story. Ignorance, stupidity, and, hypocrisy are hall marks of the Democrat party in general and the dump in particular.

War spending was separated during Bush, but Dear Leader combined it with the rest of the budget?? That's not even a good lie. Com'n primitive, at least make a better effort than that.

If you get counsel from the imposter's economic team, they would tell you to spend, spend, spend. And then when that fails, spend a little more.

It took from 1776 until 1990 for the federal government to accumulate a total of $3 trillion in debt.
(CNSNews.com (http://www.cnsnews.com/news/article/it-s-official-obama-has-now-borrowed-3-t)) - It's official: The Obama administration has now borrowed $3 trillion, according to the U.S. Treasury Department.
It took from 1776, when the United States became an independent country, until 1990, the year after the Berlin Wall fell signaling victory in the Cold War, for the federal government to accumulate a total of $3 trillion in debt, according to the Treasury Department. It only took from Jan. 20, 2009, the day President Barack Obama was inaugurated, until Oct. 15, 2010, for the Obama administration to add $3 trillion to the federal debt.

The only reason to click on a DUmp thread about finance/budget/economics is for sheer laughter. If you think they're stupid on the rest of the issues, they especially shine with idiocy on anything financial.

Damn you and your Sith mind tricks, Kurt-the-gay-couple, they won't work on us!

Basically, the entire thread can be summed up this way:
"IT'S ALL BUSH'S FAULT!"

You got that right Ralph. How very true. :cheersmate:

With that kind of revisionist moronic thinking from Krugman...no wonder Enron went belly up.

Y'all just keep tellin' yourselves this DUmmies!
When we stop all the unnecessary spending on capitol Hill, then you might have somethin' to bitch about!
Somehow, I just don't consider Jesus in a jar of urine, or how much cocaine a rat can ingest, necessary!
When we eliminate pork such as the bridge to nowhere, and new convention centers in districts where the only reason is for some congress critter to be able to see his/her name in stone, then maybe we can talk about spending!
Until then, pound sand!!!!!!!
You always seem to forget it is our money, not the frikkin' governments!

A simple concept that even the stupid DUmmies can't understand. All this backing they do for the "green" jobs and higher taxes for the rich, only hurts themselves as well. Yet, they don't see it and complain about the cost increases. DUmmies! :thatsright: :censored:
