Should the Obama taxcuts expire or be extended?

Edited on Sun Oct-17-10 01:05 PM by kentuck

As everyone - and I mean everyone - knows, the stimulus bill that was passed by President Obama and the Democrats included over a $1200 taxcut for every husband and wife that is working in America. That was over $200 billion dollars of the stimulus bill.

Now that may not seem like much when you only get $13 dollars per week but that is how much it comes to over a year's time.

Should this taxcut be extended or does it automatically expire at the end of this year? Should this be debated, since no Republican seemed to have gotten that taxcut, I am sure they would not miss it?

But, would it not serve a purpose to bring it up for debate??

2. I understand most workin class Americans make good use of their tax cuts

and some desperately need them BUT I also think we ALL have to recognize that the Country just can't afford to keep giving oney back to EVERYBODY! IMO I think it wuld bebetter to keep the Oama tax cuts & let ALL the Shrub cuts go away! It seems that $13/wk would be much more important to the lower income people than whatever beefit, if any, they got from the Shrub cuts.

Great idea sparky, that way we get a whole $13 a week meanwhile our taxes go up by about 5%.
So even with that $13 a week our take home pay will be less than it is now.
Do the goons even realize that the lowest tax bracket is going to go up by 5%?
I guess most of the goons are part of the 47% with no tax burden whatsoever so if the rest of us have to pay an extra 5% every pay day no skin off their noses.

$13 a week.  Thanks.  That just about covers my electric bill, which will now go up because of Cap and Trade and other Democrat-sponsored legislation to protect us from the global warming boogeyman.  So it's not like I got a tax cut at all.

See how that works?

Same here.

The last time the FEDGOV passed out that kind of money to us was back in spring of 2008.

We're missing our $2,400 in our household.  Sure could have used it though.

ReBamaLosi made their plans pretty clear when they adjourned without a budget or a vote on the tax cuts.  I think we're going to all see a tax hike in the lame duck session, with select groups getting a few pennies back here and there in the form of "credits" if they do as big brother demands.

they will call the "credits" a "tax cut".

And then tax those "credits" the next year, like they did this mythical "$1,200 tax cut."

Actually, the primitive was 'slightly' misleading -- $13 a week per person only amounts to $672 a year, or give or take $1,350 per married couple if both are working. And, its not a tax cut.

So, votes cost $13 a week now, huh...Damn, you used to could buy 'em for $5 or less on election day.

That's because Obama has started inflation . . . :fuelfire:

True....I wonder if it's going to run wild like it did under Carter?

Ah shoot....you know it is....it's the democrat way of paying down the debt or curtailing deficit spending....borrow dollars when they're worth 19 cent and payoff the loan with dollars worth 5 cent. Counting interest and stuff you're still ahead....at least in the number of dollar you have but not in value.

It wasn't a tax cut anyways.  We had to pay taxes on it at the end of the year.  They just adjusted the withholding temporarily.  The tax tables did not change.  Kentuck, you are in the running for DOY, just based on your profound stupidity.

At any rate, it went away after one year, didn't it?

Just another example of wasteful government spending under the Democrats. It only costs them $5 when they're spending their own campaign money, but the price goes up to $600 per vote when they're in charge and able to use our money instead.

  :thatsright:

High unemployment. Record deficit. Inflation. What more can DingleBarry do to drive this country into the dirt.

We are still missing that money.  I guess our household got skipped over.
