Working for the worst company in the world can really stress you out.
I have depression, social phobia, and anxiety.. and work at Wal-mart as a cashier. Sometimes it can be hell on earth. We never have enough help.. always getting backed up and have 4 or 5 or more customers waiting in line. The stress is really starting to take a toll on me and I've even had a few panic attacks. We are hiring a few more cashiers, but I'm not sure it will be enough especially with the holidays coming up. I hope I can make it through the holidays but I am almost to my breaking point.. I just can't take it anymore.
This is a company that cares NOTHING about their associates and only cares about the bottom line.. they are trying to get rid of all the full-time employees and only run the stores on part-time help. I am full time and worried that my day is coming. I am not going to give them the satisfaction of quitting though; I am going to let them fire me and collect unemployment while trying to find a better job with a company that actually CARES about their employees... it's disgusting that this is the richest company in the world and yet can't even pay their associates a living wage.
I am going to my psych doctor on Wednesday to see if she can change my anti-anxiety meds.. because what I am on now is NOT working.. though working for Wal-mart I'm not sure anything would help.
Thanks for listening to me rant.. I feel better now that I've gotten this off my chest...

1. I understand what you are going through
My dad worked part time at Walmart as a second job. He said the working conditions there were terrible, and, like you said, they didn't give a damn about their employees.
I hope you are able to get through this and find the kind of job that you deserve.

2. i pass on a bit of advice given to me today
don't give them the power to break you. easier said than done, don't know if i can do it myself. gonna try to hang on to that for a while and see how it goes.
meantime, hope you can get your meds adjusted. i am sure there is something that will work better for you, it's just a chaotic process sometimes.
take care of yourself the best you can. drop by and rant.

3. It's taken me 8 years to recover from working for a terrible company; and I only worked there 6 years!
I know that there are some permanent changes; I never used to be this shy.

Well, ya DUmmass, you picked the wrong line of work, didn't you. It's too bad that the only job you can get in this Obameconomy is at Walmart.

PTSD from being a cashier?
These are the last people on earth who should ever endorse Darwinism because they are simply not fit to survive.
Hang yourself you worthless jackass.

Maybe you'll "get lucky" and get laid off and then you can go onto the gubberment's dole, unemployment?!? Then, you can take all the head meds you want at anytime of the day. Would that work for you DUmmie?!

And what do we get? A ****in' whinin' DUmbass! Are there any DUmmies that don't have depression or some other unprovable malady?

That's what 5 years, a BA in Womyn's Studies, and $60,000 will get you.
