Muslim civil rights group asks FBI to probe bias motive
WASHINGTON, Oct. 12 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- A prominent national Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization today called on the FBI to investigate a possible bias motive for the defacement of a South Carolina mosque with bacon, a food prohibited to Muslims.
The Washington-based Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) reported that someone defaced the Florence Islamic Center being renovated in Florence, S.C., on Sunday between morning and noon prayers by using slices of bacon to spell out the words "PIG CHUMP" on the walkway of the mosque. The mosque is currently used for Friday prayers. CAIR is in touch with local police and mosque officials about the incident.

Only natural to expect a backlash. Are we as a nation bigger than this? Yes. Was the first stone cast when Rauf and his ilk decided to build a mosque on Ground Zero? Hell yes! And were many more stones cast on their end when even after several opportunities, they decided they weren't going to move their victory mosque, and nothing would persuade them otherwise? HELL YES!
As far as I'm concerned...screw them. As long as intolerance is being shown, that's what they'll get back. Eye for an eye, Soleil.

Let me catch my breath here, the FBI is called in for a Hate crime because someone left Food at a religious center.???? If the Mosque finds it offensive then too bad, clean it up, and don't eat it.

There are quite a few Christian churches that do not eat pork, nor do the Jews or members of Pita. Those that are Hindi do not eat meat of any kind------ Quite a million people in this country alone are vegetarians.
Are the FBI telling us that a faith is not about free will.? Because one is a Muslim they are forced to follow the dietary laws and any sight of offending food is a hate crime.? They see food they are not allowed to eat, so they should not eat it, not call the freaking FBI.
You know how the Muslims feel about dogs, the same as hogs.
When will it come about that you cannot walk Fluffy down the street in front of a home Muslims live in , as they say you are doing this to harass them, cannot allow your dog to run in a fenced in area as the neighbors cannot allow their children to play in their back yard as they may stick their fingers through the fence and pat them.
This is so crazy, people in severe comunities of the religious live to themselves, if their religious convictions are different from the comunity they move into they find a way to incorporate with the comunity, they do not charge in and demand a settled comunity corform to their beliefs.
The Muslim comunity are by nature religion and culture war like when it comes to their faith.They will take no quarter it is their way or die.
However, the biggest problem is their young generation that is becoming westernised. They are kids and adventures and will try foods that are forbidden, wear western clothes and try to fit in with their peers.
So we put up with the FBI running about because someone left a pound of Bacon on a Mosque, and the elders yell Hate crime.
The youth will win out at the end, they were not raised in an all Muslim country, the girls will become empowered and the boys will not be so ready to spend a life in jail for killing their sisters because they go in public with no head cover.
Gives me a laugh that the FBI is investigating a food prank and calling it a hate crime.

A national Muslim civil rights and advocacy group is calling on the FBI to investigate a message written in bacon at a South Carolina mosque.
Three chair members of the Islamic Center in Florence discovered the words "pig" and "chump" written in strips of bacon on the walkway along the mosque Sunday afternoon.
Mushtaq Hussain was one of the members who discovered the message after concluding a prayer gathering. He initially thought it was a practical joke.
"Then later on, we thought seriously. And we thought, 'You know, somebody doesn't like us,'" he said.

You gotta wonder. What about the separation of church and state? IFFFFFFFFFF this was a crime, isn't it up to the local police to investigate? Why is the FBI potentially going to get involved? Are muslims special? They think so. I do not. The more we cowtow to this fanatic cult the more control they exercise. I for one am tired of showing MY tolerance of them. I have none. They can either get with the program or get trampled, as did all who came here over time. For us, we taxpayers, to have financed a trip by a religious asshole, or is that pighole, to go to "Muslim" countries to express our tolerance of them and their RELIGION is outrageous! If they want to kill each other, who cares? Just don't do it herre. If their women want to be treated like animals, who cares? Just don't do it here. If they want to wear a towel on their heads, who cares. That they can do here.
I resent being told I have to tolerate a backward people. I do not want to. If in their country of origin, if they want to maintain life as it was in the 8th century, good. Just do not expect us to tolerate that here. One wife is the law. No, it is not all right for you to kill your children to preserve your barbaric pride. No you cannot mutilate the genitals of your daughters to make it okay for them to be raped as children by fat old rich men to whom you have sold them. Over there, if that is okay, go back there and do it. None of my business. Here we expect you, CAIR and other barbarians, to evolve.

Hmm, our institutions are blown sky high by Muslim terrorists but bacon is a hate crime?
The intention is clear, but if the people placing the bacon were as heinous as these Muslims' co-religionists there'd be blood to clean up, not bacon grease.
While it WAS a mean spirited act (albeit funny as hell to me) how much moreso is the prohibition against building a church or synagogue in some of these Muslim countries?
WTH, why doesn't the US issue as strident a condemnation against THOSE kinds of offenses as labeling this a hate crime. Give me a ****ing break.

That is pretty damned harsh IMO. This is a country of religious freedoms. Some of those people are natural born Americans. I do not defend radical muslims or anyone who kills for religious purposes, but you are very out of line. At least to me. I am sure some agree with you though.

We've gone well beyond the point at which "tolerance" is a luxury we can afford. Many European countries are in worse shape and are going to face some tough choices, the only alternative to which is destruction.
