Rasmussen’s new poll on racism is out: http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics... , and it turns out that 70% of Republicans don’t think “most†Tea Partiers are racist. While it’s not surprising that a majority of them would defend their allies, 70% seems kinda low. Which suggests that the TPers creep a significant chunk of sane Republicans right the hell out too.
By happy coincidence, this poll happens to follow right on the heels of a Public Religion Research Institute poll (PDF): http://www.publicreligion.org/objects/uploads/fck/file/... , which actually asked the Tea Partiers some questions which might reveal their attitudes towards minorities. The results:
* 64% agreed that “It is really not that big a problem if some people have more of a chance in life than others,†compared with 41% overall.
I don't see how this is racist but whatevs.
Lots of whites have a lesser chance in life. They're called bitter-clingers.
* 58% agreed that “Over the past couple of decades, the government has paid too much attention to the problems of blacks and other minorities,†compared with 37% overall.
Obama's DoJ proves it.
* 65% agreed that “Immigrants today are a burden on our country because they take our jobs, housing and health care,†compared with 48% overall.
20 million ILLEGAL immigrants (notice how you left that little caveat unattended, you racist ****) have an impact. They account for 24% of California's budget deficit.
That sounds maybe just a teensy bit… tolerance-impaired to me, yet Tea Partiers and Republicans are always terribly indignant that anyone might ever possibly think of them as racist, and conservative pundits love to talk about how they went to a Tea Party or Glenn Beck rally and didn’t see a single racist sign. Well, maybe that’s so, or maybe they just don’t recognize it when they see it.
In order to clear up this confusion, I have compiled a helpful list of possible signs of racism. If they don’t apply to you, then congratulations, you’re just as not-racist as you think you are. But if they do, please stop complaining about what a bum rap you’re getting.
If you incite and exploit hatred and resentment against minorities to get white votes… you might be a racist.
When will you idiots stopping yapping about race to incite and exploit hatred to gain non-white votes?
If you regularly vote for the candidate who incites the most hatred and resentment against minorities, especially if that’s why you vote for them… you might be a racist.
Jeremiah Wright, Al Sharpton, Louis Farakhan
Any of these racist hucksters ring a bell?
If you think that black people are lazy Cadillac-driving welfare queens stealing your hard-earned money and oppose any measures to alleviate poverty… you might be a racist.
No, we oppose subsidizing non-productivity regardless of race.
If you think home loans to minorities caused the housing crash… you might be a racist.
Yet, you same assholes howled about how the foreclosures hit minorities hardest and before there was a crash you howled about bankers holding minorities to the same lending standards.
If you think minorities are engaged in rampant voter fraud and intimidation… you might be a racist.
You might have dodged that perception if you had followed through with the default judgment against the New Black Panthers and not turned a blind eye to ACORN.

It doesn't make me a racist. It's just something that sticks out like a sore thumb. Probably because they put the crappiest sounding sub woofers in their vehicles while speeding through parking lots and almost hitting pedestrians.
Doesn't mean I am racist. I see a lot of dumb white people do that crap too.

In my profession, blacks appear to commit better than 40% of the crime while being only 12% of the population. Non whites, commit 60% of crime in America, yet are all considered minorities compared to the white population, with better gubmint sponsorship than whites could ever hope to attain, I might add! This is easily proven by the Dept of Justice statistics!
Hmmmmm.....If it's racist to point that out, then I guess I'm guilty!

Every time that I point out a section of the population here has separate courts, different rights wrt hunting and traverse of land, their own raft of group-exclusive government departments, business units within other government departments, government funded "private" companies, and a whole bunch of other rights and taxpayer supplied benefits - I get called a racist.
So be it. The opinion of the ignorant is irrelevant.
