You Want FIRE PROTECTION? CUT THE ****ING MILITARY BUDGET!!
Federal Budget Trade-Offs
Could your tax dollars be better spent? Select your state, town, county or congressional district and a program, and find out what else your tax dollars could provide.
So I selected:
Firefighters for one year.
And selected the program:
Total Iraq and Afghanistan War Spending from 2001 to FY 2010.
WHAT I FOUND OUT WAS:
For JUST OUR COUNTY we could've paid in full 5,980 Firefighters for One Year. Of course our county probably only needs a few hundred.
Try it yourself, tell me what you got: http://www.nationalpriorities.org/tradeoffs

Only one reply, but I think we could have fun with this thing.
Taxpayers in Illinois will pay $5.9 billion for proposed Food and Nutrition Assistance in FY2011. For the same amount of money, the following could have been provided:
93,641 Firefighters for One Year
Taxpayers in Illinois will pay $5.9 billion for proposed Food and Nutrition Assistance in FY2011. For the same amount of money, the following could have been provided:
75,146 Police or Sheriff's Patrol Officers for One Year
Look how greatly safety could be improved in Illinois if we got rid of the welfare leeches.

Firefighters aren't a federal agency. Primitive Fail.

Taxpayers in Texas will pay $8.9 billion for proposed Food and Nutrition Assistance in FY2011. For the same amount of money, the following could have been provided:
1,198,911 Military Veterans Receiving VA Medical Care for One Year
Well that sums it up for me. :banghead:
-
How much dope could that money buy?
Priorities, maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaann.........
/smelly hippie

Exactly.
Their school of thought fails every time they look to the military for cuts -- we would not spend that money elsewhere misfits. We don't pull money for federal expenditures from a bank account. We raise funds through taxes to pay the tab for these line items. Remove the line item, lesson the tax burden. See how that works morons (or should I say is SUPPOSED to work)?

Dummies are sure all a twitter over this subject based on the number of threads burning over there.
Seems like they would be more in favor of the FD actions based on their love of unions. They have a hard time relating this mentality to free health care and their 'soak the rich' mentality but hey, thats why they are dummies.
-
Their wishlists are all based on the quite-incorrect proposition that Federal revenues (And hence, taxation) should remain at the same level if and when the military's draw on it diminishes.
:hammer:

:hammer:
And what they continue to fail to realize is that what Democrats want is to RAISE taxes and REDUCE (more like gut) military spending simultaneously.

Chew on this DUmmies...the failed "stimulus" plan cost more than the entire 7 year Iraq war.

Taxpayers in Virginia will pay $4.4 million for proposed National Endowment for the Arts in FY2011. For the same amount of money, the following could have been provided:
78 Firefighters for One Year
:lmao: :rotf:
Oh they won't like that one. :-)
-
Every time a DUmbass comes up with this shit, I'm reminded whenever there are cuts in local gubmint, the first thing they say they have to cut is either police or fire. Teachers always seem to get thrown in there too, but I'm not sure that's a bad idea!
Never mind the funding for new drapes in the mayors mansion, the free needle exchange program, handing out condoms to underage teens and local prostitutes, or the funding for the butt pluggers club at the local high schrool!
We can never cut any of that funding!

Taxpayers in Texas will pay $13.2 million for proposed National Endowment for the Arts in FY2011. For the same amount of money, the following could have been provided:
229 Firefighters for One Year
Nope, I don't think they will like this one either. :lmao:

Funny how that happens, huh?!?! OH WAIT!! Those are union run! According to the imposter occupying the White House, they "HAVE TO" get their pay raises and extended benefits and retire at 50!! ::) :whatever: :whatever:
That DUmmie fails anyways. National Security, especially nowadays, is something that cannot be "defunded". Especially since it's all the DUmmies, liberals and progressives that want more mooselims in America and more mosques built in America. I'm sure that will make us real safe! :bird: :censored: :censored:

If our Congress Critters ever, ever posted a line item budget on the internet on what our taxes are wasted on, we'd be down there with pitchforks, torches, tar, and feathers!!!!!!
We'd be burnin' them at the stake!
Hell, Frankenstein got a better deal than we would give them!

Taxpayers in Tennessee will pay $20.2 million for proposed Energy Conservation in FY2011. For the same amount of money, the following could have been provided:
425 Police or Sheriff's Patrol Officers for One Year
Gee, thanks.

...and for a lot less. We could have sent all the DUmmies to a socialist paradice of their choice.
-
This proves to one and all that Dummies never bother to look at the budgets as they are divided up. We could gut welfare by 50% and have plenty left over for those that really need it and have some for providing for the common welfare of the peo0ple like Fire Depts.

I like that idea! H5! :hi5:
