Best Buy calls the cops on a customer for saying an item is overpriced
Best Buy called the cops on Alex because he told another shopper that the Jawbone headset he was considering was poor quality and marked up $30 from the manufacturer's price.
Alex went to Best Buy to purchase a new Bluetooth headset because the Jawbone he recently purchased from Verizon wasn't cutting it.
While browsing the headsets, he struck up a conversation with another customer who was checking out the Jawbone.
Alex told his fellow customer that he had been disappointed in the quality of the Jawbone, and that Best Buy was charging $30 more than the manufacturer or Verizon. A sales associate overheard this and told the manager, who asked Alex to leave the store, then threatened to call the police, then did.

I once had to contact the Attorney General Office in Illinois after DeepDiscountCD.com refused to refund my money for a defective CD (after several tries and frequent e-mail contacts). You'd be surprised (or maybe not) how quickly the matter was resolved after that. I got my money back AND a $25 coupon.

10. How does Best Buy suck?....Let me count the ways.
* Crappy customer service from people who never seem to "normally work in the department" that you're in.
* The employee standing century at the exit to verify that you're not a criminal on the way out the door.
* Two-hour long waits at the return counter after the holidays.
* Did I mention that the customer service is crappy?
One potential positive of the current economic upheaval is the demise of these soulless big box stores and a return to the local electronics store.

Not defending BB, but I've seen some crazy customers around here (Florida) recently.
Uh-huh, like that primitive-like woman customer at some other discount store last December, who threw a really big and bombastic temper-tantrum when her credit card was rejected for a purchase because she was over the limit.
The primitive-like woman customer happened to teach "serenity" and "peace" in yoga or something.
Those who can't do, teach.

The primitives and the person involved in the incident don't know the law very well.
All establishments have the right to refuse service to anyone for any reason (as long as it isn't provably due to race or gender). Talking about pricing is the same thing as talking down the store and the store has no requirement to allow this.
And store policy can certainly be established by individual store in addition to policies established by Corporate.

I have shopped at Best Buy on several occasions, it has always been a good experience....of course DUmmies are never happy about anything.

I bet 99% of the people on this site are DUmmies too. In fact, I know they are because I post there from time to time. Some of the complaints are legitimate and some of the information is valuable. But for the most part, it's DU style ranting and conclusion jumping.

Got news for you DUmmies. You don't have to show your receipt at the door ANYWHERE! When you buy something, anything, anywhere you should get a receipt. That receipt shows OWNERSHIP. If anyone asks to see your receipt say "No" and keep walking. Tell them; "This is mine. If you think I stole something, call the police". They won't, they know the law too. If they try to stop you forcefully by laying hands on you, call a lawyer, you may already be a millionaire.
The worker stands "century" at the door for one reason; they don't trust their own cashiers. Some store employees, especially cashiers, will conspire with their friends to steal merchandise. It happens a lot actually.

The DUmmies should love Best Buy. They are one of the top 10 most gay friendly work places in America. The employees get great benefits and the discount is awesome too.

Agreed! Best Buy never has anyone around to help me (at least not at the one here in Savannah), but the Circuit City nearby is a lot better with the service.

I think how good a Best Buy is depends on who runs it. All the ones I have been to are pretty good. Oh sure, occasionally, I need help with something and there is no one around and other times I am just browsing DVD's and I get 3 people asking me if I need help but that is just a thing.
I do recall several years ago one of the big wigs at BB was mad because too many of the customers were taking advantage of the rebates and sales but that never really affected me in anyway.

Maybe it's just me and my suspicious rabbit ways, but I can't help but think there's more to this story than the DUmmie let's on. Stores are not in the business of expelling people over frivilous reasons.
Oh, and for the record: a manager does have the legal authority to expel people at whim.
