It's called E-Verify, Meg. And as an employer of thousands you should know about it by now.

That is all.

Now wait just a second wouldn't that be profiling and racist?
Or does that just apply if done in AZ?

7. You know what, as an employer, I can tell you from first hand experience that e-verify doesn't work

The SS# may be good. In fact, I'd bet you most of the employees that aren't legal still have good SS#'s, they just simply aren't attached to that name. But an employer doesn't know that (duh, of course or you would have everyone and their brother stealing IDs left and right).

You only know whether the number is good or bad. And the immigrant community has LONG ago figured that out when they began distributing fake SS cards.

It happened to me personally. I had an employee 10 years ago who the IRS finally caught up with last year! That is not a typo - it took 10 years for that SS# to finally get flagged as being used inappropriately, and only because the real time owner of that SS# was finally retiring and discovered it himself.

By then, my guy was long gone. He was only a summer worker for me anyway. Even with e-verify, he would have come up okay. He spoke perfect english (came into the states as a child). His name was anglicized. In other words, I would have been discriminatory for NOT hiring him.

While Meg Whitman deserves everything she's getting and more, e-verify isn't the answer we want in dealing with illegal immigration and employers.

A DUmmy to the end...explains how far the illegal invader market has progressed, admitted to being easily duped and then saying it still is okay to attack someone over it because in his/her view politics holds no morality.

You are exactly correct. We should have a gubberment that caters to the American people and not the non citizens that want to cross into the U.S.A. from Mexico ILlegally. BUT, unfortunately, we have a corrupt and anti-American president that leads the way and invites those ILlegals into the Country with open arms. ILLEGAL still means not legal DUmmies.

I guess the fact that she was an employee of a SERVICE that had supposedly already vetted her was lost on the DUmmies.

E-Verify isn't perfect, but its a sight better than nothing - Also the primitives who are discounting E-Verify altogether are forgetting an important Detail.

Your SSN contains data on the year it was issued, and the approximate location.

So, if you are claiming you were born in California in 1986, but your perfectly good SSN suggests that you were born in Delaware in 1972, that raises a red flag.

If Meg Whitman or anyone on her campaign staff were smart...they'd turn this around on the Dems and say that this is EXACTLY the reason why we need immigration reform and to tighten the laws.

I have requested ID's for new workers for frikkin' years! I heard back from SS within the month. If you gave me a false number, you were fired on the spot! The Dems have stopped that practice as I understand it now. What part of lying on your job app do these people not get for reason to dismiss?

But then all those Spanish-language ads would be shown to be pure and utter bullshit.

I'm just glad I don't live in CA anymore.  Frankly, neither one of these assclowns deserves to be governor (or governor AGAIN.)

Thank you for the link, I cannot believe the double talk that came out of the mouth of that Allred Lawyer.

She reminds me of a pathological liar that twists things around and constantly tries to change the subject.

She needs to keep her mouth shut in regards to her clients, she gives the impression that she is using that woman to feather her own nest and gain more fame riding on the backs of controversial cases.

I have to ask why on earth she would agree to go on radio talk shows knowing that the Host is going to pin her ears to the wall.

There is something really wrong with this Lawyer, has her EGO gotten so huge that she thinks she can bull shit, shuck and jive, people that make their living out of outing the scabs of society ?
