Post by: JakeStyle on September 27, 2010, 11:34:52 PM
Gigantic thread started by Nance (http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=433&topic_id=456043&mesg_id=456043)
Above thread is locked, chaos ensues

Is this DU? When a post by Nance Greggs gets locked, it is time for

real Democrats to hightail it out of here. Her OP was normal, she was rallying the voters and lo and behold, the people under the shades came out in their glory to crucify her.

Carry on you all ... it is very sad that a voice of reality got squelched!

Oh, what is that famous acronym, lock before .....

Let's Not Stop This...

Perhaps Skinner will come out of hiding and explain why Pro-Democratic posts on a Pro-Democratic website are being locked as "flamebait"

I'd like to hear the explanation of that one.

A wholly worthwhile post, directed at NanceGreggs:

172. .......The whole thing just winds up an incoherent mess - at best an exercise in self aggrandizement, at worst a diatribe that will actually turn voters away from your candidate.

And, wait for it........

111. I am an apologist.
I'm deeply sorry that I found this harangue to be simplistic, divisive, and insulting to Democrats who care deeply about the direction this administration is taking in important areas of policy.

I am further sorry that I found it neither remotely motivational nor useful.

:lmao: :rotf:

That thread is a big huge mess, and contains too much Depakid besides.

78. you've got a pretty high and mighty opinion of yourself

don't you?

Your "fight" is with yet another of the gigantic strawman you create for your "rants".

103. Ah, the ineivtable "strawman" argument ...

... that meme may play well in the shady recesses under certain trees, but means nothing in the real world where yelling "strawman"" as a response to anything and everything has absolutely no effect.

Please read the memos, paulk - you seem to be a few Crisis posts short of knowing what gets traction here, and what has been lock-steppingly group-thinked as being ultimately ineffective.

172. it is a strawman, though

the "you" you create in order to throw every bit of rambling shit at it you can, with the hope that some of it sticks.

And when it doesn't you bring up some other website with the idea that that actually means something to someone/anyone.

The whole thing just winds up an incoherent mess - at best an exercise in self aggrandizement, at worst a diatribe that will actually turn voters away from your candidate.

Just wanted to go on record.

I will dedicate my non-vote for Obama in 2012 (if he runs again) to you and this post.

That's as far as I got.  Now I have a headache.

I don't have the time or desire to see that thread either.

Oh, and this one.  It was brilliantly subtle, but it had me howling on the floor:

Has it ever occurred to you that you don't have to view photos you don't want to see?
If you are using FireFox, you can make unwanted, repetitive photos disappear forever.

1) Right Click on the unwanted photo

2) Choose "Block Images from...(whatever site appears)"

3) PRESTO!
No more repetitive, unwanted photos.
Especially useful if you are on a Dial Up connection.

To quote the drunken idiot herself:

Attn primitives:  Has it ever occurred to you that NG is a walking, talking dolt?

If it hasn't, allow me to remove all doubt.  She is both a drunk and a dolt.

And she is to prose as CalPeg is to poetry.  They're racing to the near bottom of the DU barrel.

Why bother using such sensitive politically-correct language, sir.

The "NanceGreggs" primitive is a sordid old sot.

Just curious, why is this stickied?

"Hot" threads are stickied.

It's kind of an arbitrary judgement about what is "hot" and what's not "hot," but this one seemed to fit comfortably into the former category, as it showed considerable discombobulation among the primitives.
