Not when "hard" is defined by people who think that your ass is lazy if you're not gasping in misery at the end of the 10-hour work day.
Not when "hard" means standing on my feet on hard concrete surfaces without a break for hours, with a bare few minutes for lunch and bathroom breaks, and hot, smelly air choking me until the migraine is so bad I can hardly find my locker to pick up my purse at the end of the day.
Not when "hard" means that my "exempt" job "exempts" me from being paid overtime for the extra ten hours a week I routinely have to put in at a flickering computer monitor in an ergonomic nightmare of a chair, with sleazy supervisors telling me how lazy I am and denying me raises because the company's profit margin isn't inflated enough.
Not when "hard" means bending over in the hot sun, muscling a heavy piece of equipment intended to be operated by two people all on my own.
Not when "hard" means accepting shitty pay and constant disrespect, suspicion, and superior attitudes from people whose only "qualification" for the job is that their brother-in-law is a company Vice President.
Not when "hard" means getting a theoretical two weeks' vacation I never get to take because if I do, my job will have been disappeared by the time I get back, "re-organized" so that two even worse-paid part-time employees take over the work.
Not when "hard" means no benefits and barely enough pay to eat on and three months behind in the rent and no money to pay for the medication I need to keep breathing without wheezing constantly, but I'm still expected to be on-the-bounce, cheerful, willing to stay late and arrive early and take over the extra work required when a co-worker is out sick.
No, you ****ers, you're right. I DON'T want to "work hard," you piece-of-crap smug sleazy empty suited heartless amoral assholes. I DON'T want to "work hard" so that you can keep making payments on your Lexus and sneer at me because I'm behind on my mortgage and "not making good financial decisions."
I want to WORK.
I want to work with DIGNITY.
I want to work for a LIVING WAGE.
I want to work for the feeling that what I do is IMPORTANT and APPRECIATED and DECENTLY COMPENSATED.
THAT'S how I want to work.
That's what UNIONS used to be for: To keep you slimy, self-righteous, greedy, arrogant shitheels from being able to take advantage of my need for a job, my need to support myself and my family and feel like I'm pulling my own weight in the world by regarding me as a disposable commodity that can be pushed around, treated like crap, and ditched whenever your ****ing profit margin drops below two hundred percent and your bonus or your stock options are in jeopardy.
And then you can justify your smarmy, hypocritical, vicious, parasitical behavior by sniffing superciliously about how I "don't want to work hard."
Damn'.
****ing.

So find a better job, beyotch. Oh, you say you've tried and can't? Well, maybe you are already as high as you deserve to be on the Cosmic Wheel of Employment, at the limit of what all your skills, attitude, and motivation will ever enable you to achieve. Ever consider that possibility?

I would not, could not, with a mouse.

46. Sweat Shop conditions are slavery . . . how many are also working weekends now?
Well let me see, I worked a full-time job and a part-time job (15 hours a week, part time job was at night and included every other weekend) for 15 years, and a few of those years I was going to school, and you're bitching why?

Wow, DUmbass, that's quite a list of "wants".
You know what I want? I want a new truck. Yep, a new truck. A brand, spanking, new Ford Super Duty.
I already have a good job, a broad skill set (electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, course development, instruction, management, etc), experience, house, and kick ass insurance. Funny thing how all of that happened - I worked very ****ing "hard" to get it.
That's right, ****wit, I did what you are obviously too damned good to do. I swallowed a lot of shit, worked a lot of ****ed up hours, and did it with a smile and it paid off in spades.
So while you are sitting behind your keyboard, bitching about what you aren't being handed, with one thumb in your mouth and the other in your ass waiting for the nanny government to yell "switch", I'll be continuing to work "hard" and make more than some ****ing idiot union would ever get me.
DUmbass, I'll reach my goal long before you will. ;)

Why ?
They feel entitled to an executive salary with perks for a 5 hour a year work week because of the education system (all this self esteem BS) and because society doesn't squash such attitudes with large doses of reality like it used to do.

My husband has been working overtime all last week and into this week. He works 10 hours a day (not including the 30 minute lunch), five days a week = 50 hours a week for DUmmies. My husband also went into work on Sunday and this coming Sunday he is going in as well. That's another 20 hours of overtime. He will have 35 hours of total overtime on his next check.
My job has never requires overtime since I've worked there. I've heard at the end of the year we have to work a weekend to help with end of year/month/quarter stuff, but that's not a big deal.

Hey now, I am cleaning stalls and feeding horses as a side job right now. No DUmmies would work remotely that hard.

And I just got called 15 minutes ago, and have to go into work and be there at 10 p.m. Less than an hours notice to go to work.

Do you work for the railroads?
My FIL is an engineer and always gets called in at odd hours after being home for a short while.

I just don't get the mindset of these people, since when are people owed things? and it's freaking scary that at least 38% of the population feels like they do.

I would like to know the answer to that as well. When did so many become self-involved pathetic puds?
-
That, in a nutshell, is a big part what's wrong with society. At some point, we lost the idea that we have to pay our dues, that you don't automatically get the corner office right out of college. That you don't become foreman after you get out of trade school. Somehow, an entire generation lost the idea that there is a period (of varying length, based on ability, to be sure) of eating your share of crap. Working the off shifts, being the low man on the totem pole, etc., etc. You have to EARN the right to that cushy job.
And then, after you've worked your ass off, you have to remember that you're just an employee, that you're not owed a thing.
Harsh lessons, but an increasing number of people do not learn them any more.

Unfortunately for you DUmmie...to get all of that you'd have to do what you've explicitly stated you do NOT want to do.

I'm trying to figure out how another person's hard work helps another person make their car payment because I want a new Ford F150. Still, if this guy doesn't think his work has dignity perhaps he needs to examine his work ethic. Dignity has little to do with how much a person makes or even how a person manages his money. If you have a good attitude, work hard, and take pride in what you do, that's dignified. Doesn't matter if someone is a waitress or CFO, a gas station attendant or the guy who owns the gas station, dignity isn't determined by the amount of your paycheck. But it's a sure bet that if you do take pride in your work and work hard, you stand a better chance of becoming the restaurant or station manager than the person who bitches and moans and thinks he's better than his job. Hell, I wander around in chicken poop all day and I love my work.

Hey Dummies.
You can do all those things, go join one of the those 60's communes.
Oh wait most of those disappeared because most of the idiots who joined were people like you.
There were a few people who would get up and do the hard work of cleaning, cooking, digging the latrines, farming, drawing the water, taking care of the animals, collecting the garbage, making clothes etc.
However most of the people who joined were the artists who wanted to make music, paint, write etc. Oh and smoke dope.
The communes broke up because the working people realized that living in filth surrounded by people who thought they were owed a living was a pretty stupid way to live.
And don't try to claim that people lived in perfect harmony in ancient cultures in Africa or pre colombian Americas. They had a few people who were in charge or were the witch doctors, but those were usually elders who had lived long enough to have done all the work.
Try to go down to one of those cultures and move in, and then explain to them that your vegan artist, and can't help with the hunt, and are a pacifist who can't make war with the tribe next door, and you want to be the one who makes the music. I want to see how long you last before you are put in the stew pot, or sold into salvery to the tribe next door.
Sure the elderly were taken care of, but useless females who think they are a male cat would not be tolerated and would be immediately expelled.
Sorry for the long post but
:banghead:

You know the difference between you and I, DUmmies? (Many actually, but here's one) Though we both may be emplayed, I'm going out in the market, and trying to find work...any work...without complaints. 16-24 year olds are 13% of the labor force, but 24% of the unemployed. That's my age bracket, and I have extenuating circumstances. Do you hear me complaining? NO! I'm out there looking for work to benefit my country!
THAT'S one of the major differences between you and I.
**** all of you. Obama won't save you. You all are beyond help. :banghead:
-
Do you work for the railroads?
My FIL is an engineer and always gets called in at odd hours after being home for a short while.
Nope, I work at a shop that repairs electric motors, of all kinds and sizes, from ones that you could hold in one hand to ones that you can stand inside of.
-
I'm a rehab manager and often work more than 40 hours. Makes me shake my head when some people mention I have it easy. Yeah, I like my work, but it can require long hours.
Then in my spare time, I have some cows, groom horses during polo season, and clean houses for folks who can't do it on their own.
My kids are the same way, fortunately.
-
Good grief.
Lazy twits.
I worked full time and went to school full time and still managed to have friends and a life.
My daughter is a senior in high school, dances 17 hours a week and is also working 13-15 hours a week. And SHE still manages to have friends and a life (granted, her room could stand some attention, but hey..).
My older son is only 15, but is already making plans to work with a tree guy next summer.
Why is that such a foreign concept to the DUmmies?
-
I want to see how long you last before you are put in the stew pot
:lmao: That right there was funny!
I may row over and see the thread. But, I just don't understand their aversion to work. I was out of work once, and it put me in a very dark and bad place. I just require, for my own sanity, a reason to get up in the morning and go to bed at night. To be expected to be somewhere.
-
Dear DUmmies,
Trade ya, ****ers. See how much you like it knowing that if you screwed up the grounding truck, you could set off a direct short to ground on a 4160 or 13800 volt bus through 3 4/0 welding cables. Did you know copper vapor occupies 75,000 times the volume as the same mass of solid copper? And that when you change that volume very rapidly, it's effectively the same as a bomb?
This is what happens if I have a bad day, DUmmies:

Or even worse:

Or how about working a 12-hour shift in a 130-degree (heat index 140-plus) pipe chase in August, or in -20 (-45 windchill) outdoor switchyards in February while the Operations pukes look down on you from the Administration building as they eat Chinese food and YOU work through "lunch" to get the plant back?
Or perhaps you'd like to get called in on nights, weekends, or holidays just to ensure someone else's lights stay on? After all, you bitch at your electric bill, but you don't think twice about us until the lights go out.
The way I look at it, you and your employer are all square every payday. You don't like it, go somewhere else. See what your talents are worth at another company.

10. i gave up on work, i want to sell cannabis
but a flood took my crop this year
next year i will do better and i dont give a **** if it is illegal
i would rather risk jail than be blamed for spoiled kids misbehaving in my classrooms (hell i got laid off i have no classroom anymore)
the govt says do more with less which means less teachers like me are needed
the same govt says the weed we smoke cant be legally grown or sold so it enables someone like me to get by on growing 4 kilos of weed for sale a year (12000 profit at 3 euros the gram)
i am tired of workig for bosses who never praise me for doing extra work or doing great work ( my last boss said that the fact that some parents called because they thought i was doing such a great job teaching their kids was trumped out by the fact that some other partents in other classes i taught called to complain of discipline problems) so no praise for the unpaid debate team hours i gave but because i dared to say that kids are responsible for their own behavior my boss called me incompetent!!!
well you know what??? it is easier and less stressing to GROW ****ING WEED!
I doubt I would get jail where i live for 10 plants out in the woods and they dont seize your house in this country....
He claims to be a teacher, and the debate team coach. I think he's posting drunk.

You are telling me that a teacher is complaining about his working conditions being too hard :rotf:3 month vacation a year, and pay that equals a decent 12 month job, some of the best benefits out there, and regular hours? Yeah, life is real tough :mental:

LOL these people are losers. I wonder how they would like having to travel all the time and it's always over the weekend with no extra pay. My husband works at least 50 hours a week (usually more) not including the work he does at home and when he travels. He gets no overtime because he is salary not hourly. I would love to see this dummie go to China (China NOT Hong Kong), stay at the factory for two weeks, eat chicken beaks, feet and other crap. Have all the responsibility of a product being successful weighing on their shoulders. They can't handle what it takes and that is the reason the majority of them are perpetual losers.

So he got fired from his teaching job and now wants to be a drug dealer? The heights that these primitives aspire to is astounding.
Just on one deployment on a Navy ship I think I had about 10 days off out of 180.

No wonder why the DUmmies/libtards get mad when people have nice stuff and want to redistribute the wealth around. They don't want to work for anything.
Hey DUmmies here's something you may not know. It's a great feeling when you work, whether it be hard work or not, and it pays off for you in the end.
-
Well, hell.
I didn't want to work hard picking tobacco all day in the Florida sun.
I didn't want to work hard at two different saw mills, manhandling long, thick, heavy slabs of rough-cut pine through an edger to cut out lumber, the first day almost passing out from heat exhaustion. I did it to put food on the table and it was one of the only jobs I could get commensurate with my experience and skill level, which was zero at the time.
I didn't want to work hard on the labor gang at the local phosphate mine, shoveling wet, powdered phosphate ore with the consistency of modeling clay all day in the same heat. Or cleaning out phoshoric acid tanks with a fire hose in freezing weather, crawling through muck to get inside, and spending hours banging on the sides with a ten-pound sledge to loosen the encrusted residue. But I did it until I had accrued enough seniority to bid on a better position. (And BTW, there was a powerful union there, but even they realized and accepted that there were shitty jobs that had to be done.)
I didn't want to work hard as a nursing assistant cleaning up shit, puke, blood and various other bodily secretions and excretions, and pulling at 300lb. stroke victims all day until my back felt like it was on fire.
I did all that, slowly working my way up the ladder, until I had obtained the formal education, in a field where there were actually jobs to be had, that allowed me more fulfilling work in which I used my mind more than my body, and was well-compensated.
Oh, and in the middle of all that, I managed to carve out five years to serve my country in the military, which wasn't exactly a cakewalk.
Throughout, I never "blamed" anyone for the fact that I had to work hard. Not my parents, not my employers, not POTUS, not "the rich." I accepted that my life and future were in my own hands and would be whatever I made of them. I surely didn't waste time ruminating over what kind of car my boss drove.
If I had it to do over again, I would have gotten my ass into college sooner. But the fact is, I have no real regrets. It built character and discipline and confidence. It made me more appreciative of the comforts and financial security I now enjoy.
You, DUmmy, are just one sorry-assed, yes, lazy MFer who wants it all dropped into your lap by someone else. Forgive me if my heart doesn't bleed purple piss for you and your "hard work" travails. Or don't. Either way, I don't give shit. Spend your life whining on a message board and waiting for the government to take care of you and see how far that gets you.
-
So basically the primitive claims it wants to work but only under conditions acceptable to them (with dignity, be appreciated, for a living wage, etc...). And it needs some collective organization to help it achieve what it can't do on its own because it's too weak and stupid.
Oh well, life's full of disappointments.
.
-
When I grow up, I want to be a drug dealer.
^ Mentality of the DUmp.
-
A DUmmy would last 5 minutes at my job.
The first time they had the suffer the indignity of cleaning up dog shit they would bail.
Then again most of the goons couldn't pass the drug test to get the job anyway.
