What if, instead of water, you used MILK to make coffee?

The coffee maker would start to smell.

And you'll be buying a new one.

Just a random (hence, the thread title) curiousity.

I'd guess like a very weak latte, I'm not sure that the milk would get hot enough to make a proper strength cup.

Couldn't you experiment like this?:  Heat up milk in a saucepan, as if you were going to make hot chocolate.  Fit a coffee basket holder with paper basket over some container or other.  Spoon coffee in basket, pour hot milk in and let it brew through.  If you added Hershey's syrup to the milk, I'd bet it would be really good.

It could work...we always use milk instead of water to cook things like oatmeal and other hot cereal.  It was required when growing up on a dairy farm...but even my mom didn't try to make coffee with it.  If you try it, let us know!   :-)

Would it be like a cappuccino? I really don't know. But hot cocoa is only good with milk. That instant crap with water is gross.

I don't mind instant. Not as good as real cocoa of course, but never ever with water.

That's how I do my oatmeal and hot cereals as well.
