Not a real big surprise--a lot of utilities have supported the Obama agenda of Cap-and-tax, tax breaks for alternative (wind/solar) projects, etc., because it gets them a shitload more revenue.  My company is no exception.

I have not heard of any major alternative projects that AEP is involved with other than gridsmart.  Which is less about alternative energy than it is about letting them remotely control your electric useage.
