It's class warfare!

Fed-up parents and teachers who saw the explosive education documentary "Waiting for 'Superman' " yesterday were left either seething or in tears -- and calling for revolutionary change after the film's Big Apple debut.

"The passing along of children through the system is just disgusting," said Barbara Levinson, 63, who was crying by the film's end. "Every child should be treated as an individual."

Viewers were also rocked by the work's portrayal of the teachers unions' protection of subpar educators.

"The laws as they stand can protect ineffective teachers who are bad -- I'm disappointed in what the union's become," said Patricia Jordan, who won state teacher of the year in 1993.

Just watching the trailer brought tears to my eyes -- all those families, waiting for their number to be called for the charter school lottery.   Not being called means NYC public school education, which is probably just about the worst (aside from DC) in the country.

The unions have destroyed public education in this country.   Completely destroyed it.

I find the Jew snark offensive and I'm not even Jewish.

We had dinner last night with neighbors. She is a middle school teacher and we talked about the documentary. She thinks teachers unions are ruining public education.

The sad thing is that those people that see this documentry are just know finding out what it's like in the local school systems . Hell its been that way for years and people have beel yelling for change. Lauri who used to post her and run her own site posted about he Seattle area school and how bad they were.I wish she was still around.
