It is official - Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler are American Idol's new judges. The music icons will sit beside Randy Jackson on the upcoming season of the hit talent search show set to air early next year.
The big reveal came Wednesday afternoon in a live webcast on the show's official website.
Jennifer and Steven join the panel following the departures of Simon Cowell, Ellen DeGeneres and Kara DioGuardi.

The last 2 seasons have been awful. I love the music Tyler does. I will give it a chance, maybe.

I do have to admit that I have had a visceral dislike of American Idol since the program first popped it's ugly head out from under it's rock. AI on Fox has always been my Pavlovian cue to find something else on the idiot box to watch, before we evicted the idiot box entirely from the premises. Knowing that it's riding the last ragged vestiges of it's popularity down in flames like this, rather than leaving near the top of it's game brings warm feelings to the cockles of my heart. Maybe even the sub-cockle region as well.

:rotf:
I don't like it either. I've heard Steven Tyler talk at length... he's a rambling, disjointed mess who can't hold a single thought in his head for longer than two or three seconds. And the only thing I want to see from Lopez is her backside.

Never watched one single episode. Never had to. My local FOX news station gives me an update every morning. :thatsright:

30 years of heroin and alcohol abuse does that to ya! :-)

Could not agree more. I wish I could say the damned idiot window has been evicted, but Mrs E is addicted to the silly-assed thing. God help me if I interfere with her "programs". In fairness, even she can't stomach AI.

AI has never held my interest for an entire show, let alone a season.
Last time I saw Steven Tyler interviewed, he couldn't hardly answer a simple question.
I'd hate to be a contestant on the show, counting on his opinion to help me win the thing.....

I won't be watching it now I can't stand Steven Tyler
