Like he is my dad's best friend's (since they were 15) son. He's a good bit older than I am, but damn, he's in some deep doo-doo if this turns out to be true. And I am quite sure the feds did their homework. Damn. If true, it is disgusting. Totally.

Yup--defrauding the military is a big no-no, especially when QC starts to become involved.

I can't imagine what he was thinking. Defrauding anyone is crappy, but the military????? Oh my. I really hope this is a misunderstanding, but I am just guessing the Feds have what they need.

More than the money involved, this is the part that pisses me off the most (from the article)
"Product counterfeiting, particularly of the sophisticated kind of equipment used by our armed forces, puts lives and property at risk," U.S. Attorney Ronald C. Machen Jr. said in a written statement announcing the arrests"
Sorry, soleil, I know it would be a shock to you and your dad even if you didn't know this guy very well. The fact that he's pseudo family makes it so much worse.

It is all disgusting. I mean if this kinda stuff was putting lives at risk possibly... It is a shame. I knew he was doing really really well. My dad goes and stays there every summer. He just went last month. The Feds probably have pics of my dad. Ick. My dad's friend lives there. Not with his son, but he has an apartment above the office. They are allowing him to stay there for now, but the rest of Shannon's stuff has been confiscated. Tons of stuff. Millions and millions of dollars in cars, houses.... All seemingly bought with dirty money. :thatsright: A shame on many different levels. Especially selling bad stuff to the military. I will wait though to make my judgment when more info has come out.
