Dems to voters: You may hate us, but GOP is worse
By CHARLES BABINGTON, Associated Press Writer Charles Babington, Associated Press Writer – 31 mins ago
WASHINGTON – With just six weeks to avoid a possible election catastrophe, Democrats are trying to limit the damage with a closing argument that's more plea than platform: We know you voters are furious with us, but just let us explain why the Republicans would be worse.
The strategy requires an autumn influx of voters willing to view the election as a choice between two imperfect parties — and imperfect candidates on each ballot line — rather than as a chance to slap the Washington establishment that the public seems to dislike so deeply.
But the Democrats admit the Republicans have a big emotional advantage with voters who are fed up with high unemployment, soaring deficits and what many see as an arrogant Congress and administration that rammed a revolutionary health care plan down their throats.

So Dems are arguing that they're the "lesser of evils" -- !!

The tide is turning DUmmies.
People are fed up with democrats big time.
If the GOP follows the tea party movement the democrats will be close to being obsolete.
The days of big govt are coming to an end because the people have woken up.

4. It Could Be Worse
is a heck of a campaign slogan
And saying the Democrats "rammed" health care down people's throats is just so much right wing spin. The Democrats listened to people who are frustrated by rising costs, inability to find coverage and practices of insurance companies that were unfair and immoral and put in place a plan to address some of the worst abuses.
That's Obama's motto, "It could be worse".

5. Good argument, at this point Updated at 3:16 PM
Given that the R's have pretty much had their way with the country for decades, what else can the D's argue?
"Give us a chance, we won't be as bad as them."
And there is a great deal of truth in that message, eh?
Ha ha ha so from 1996 to 2007 was decades, must be that DUmmy math again.

10. Believe it or not, 80%+ of Democrats approve of Obama and his bills. It is the independents that are
turning against the Democrats.
Those independents make up a bulk of the Tea Party. Something for you goons to think about.

12. **** the potential election catastrophe.
Time to draw a line in the sand.
The dem leadership needs to be sent a strong message. I personally hope the dems lose the house and the senate, so that they can see just what they have missed, when they ignore the people who put them in power, and I am talking about us, the liberals who have carried their water for ****ing generations. I hope they choke on this election.
Hey that is a bannable offense at the DUmp. He is not supporting the democrat party.

15. The high unemployment is because of BUSH & the republicans....
Edited on Sat Sep-18-10 06:25 AM by Tx4obama
we democrats need to get the correct message out to the American people.
It sucks that the republicans left THE HUGE MESS for Obama to clean up and then on top of it they blame Obama for the BS that they caused.
The media needs to STOP staying that the bad economy and the high unemployment is Obama fault when it is NOT.
Uh huh it was just a coincidence that unemployment spiked after the dems took all 3 houses.
That is another thing DUmmies people aren't buying it when you and Obama blame Bush. Obama has had close to 2 years and not one thing has been done to make things better. In fact everything that he has done has made it worse. And I'm not saying that Obama should have had it all fixed by now I am just saying that people expect at least a show of some progress by now.

Porkulis...billions of dollars poured into political payoffs and no results.
HCR...increase costs and nothing to deal with the reasons health care is expensive, just a building block to a government takeover.
Nobel prize...IMO the actual turning point when many stopped blindly following the messiah and actually took a look at what an incompatant, pompous fool he is.
Lavish vacations...not just taking a bunch but doing it with a :bird: citizens attitude.
Amnesty...finally illegals have become enough of a national problem as to make it a real issue in peoples everyday lives and dems answer is to open our arms to them.
Nope,nothing to hate here.

I tend to think it will. :fuelfire:

I will. He based his whole campaign on claiming the economy would be humming right along after a short period of time. If he were the CEO of a corp, he would have been fired by now for incompetence.

What's worse is I believe the "cocksucker in chief" knew this would happen and planned it! There's no other logical reason to sabotage the economy the way he has!
He's hell bent on makin' us as poor as every other third world nation on the planet, or at least shortening the divide!
I seriously believe he thinks he has it within his power to level the playing field globally!

:hi5: And this needs to be repeated over and over between now an Nov 3 (just to make sure we catch the late voting dummies).
Also need to mention the role of UpChuck Schumer in causing the run on IndyMac bank.

Chuck Schumer's bank run
Blamed for the IndyMac debacle:
The immediate cause of the closing was a deposit run that began and continued after the public release of a June 26 letter to the OTS and the FDIC from Senator Charles Schumer of New York. The letter expressed concerns about IndyMac’s viability. In the following 11 business days, depositors withdrew more than $1.3 billion from their accounts.

I did, 3 as a matter of fact. :-) GMC is giving away tee-shirts and $15 Lowes gift cards to folks who drop by to test drive the horrendously overpriced '11 Gubbamint Motors cars and trucks at the Lowes near here. Momma fell in love with a Denali HD truck. We could pick that baby up for only $62,000. All 3 of us got the shirts and the 2 drivers drove for the gift cards. We were invited to come on back by tomorrow and drive something else for an additional 2 cards.
Your stimuli dollars at work.
