Figured I'd start one for all you NFL fans out there. I'm an addict...what can I say? :-)
Post about you team, your rival teams, Recent NFL news, rumors, games, players, etc. Whatever tickles your fancy.
I'm most concentrating on the very first game of the season tomorrow night. Based on the NFC title game last year, Favre is going to get the hell beat out of him...AGAIN! I'm so excited. :hyper:
-
You know, I have to admit in the only Viking pre-season game I watched, it was immensely satisfying to see Favre get his clock cleaned.
-
:cheersmate:
It's also satisfying to know that the Diva will be without Sidney Rice for half the season.
-
Hey Rev -- what's up with the Eagles only being 3 point dogs on Sunday against GB??? I realize it's a Philly home game so it's a bit more than 3 points but I would've thought the spread would be bigger . . . do you guys have any significant injuries?
I'm with you -- CANNOT wait 'til tomorrow night's Viking/Saints game. Even better, Oberdouche won't be injecting his crazy into NBC games!! :-)
Yeah, the Eagles are probably dead men walking this season but that won't stop me from watching! :mental:

Al Harris will be out for at least the first 6, and I'm not sure about Underwood. He MIGHT play, but if not, Shields will take his place. The guy looked good in the pre-season. Oh, and it doesn't look like Poppinga is gonna play, but he's not a starter either...
I think we can drop the Eagles with a 10 point win, actually.

REALLY!! Awesome. I didn't hear anything about Keef one way or another for MNF, but I'm glad you confirmed. I HATED watching him pregame, halftime, and postgame. The guy said some thing that are most certainly NOT family friendly.

I don't know. I've seen some decent things from Kolb. Not sure he's ready to be the field general, but it may come with time. I don't know Philly's other weaknesses, but from watching them last year, I would expect a .500 record. 7-9 at the least.
-
Just hours away now Ladies, and gentlemen. Can't wait!!

When you want the NFL...go to the NFL. ;)
-
Rebuilding year for the Eagles. Get to see if Kolb learned anything holding a clipboard for two years.
-
Hopefully he doesn't become a knuckle baller, or a deal breaker in the post season. Both of which McNabb are.

Hopefully he doesn't get killed with the weaknesses in the line.
Looking forward to seeing Rodgers progress further in Greenbay. At the end of the day even if we get our clock cleaned I'm going to enjoy seeing Rodgers this year.
-
Possibly. The guy actually at this point just needs to keep his mouth shut. "We can't win without him. (Haynesworth)
Now, what do you think THAT'S going to do for morale in the Skin's locker room?
Rodgers is great. He's almost on a top tier with Brees. Actually, he's one of the top 10 players in the NFL right now.

Holding a clipboard and practicing for a few years. The kid worked hard and learned the game.
-
Actually, that could be the way Kolb is. Could be the next breakiout QB. He's certainly got weapons in Jackson, Celek, and McCoy.

I like the kid, I see some weakness on the offensive line. Young quarterbacks can develop bad habits when they start off with a weaker line with the way they compensate.

Go Saints!
That is all.

Agreed!!!!!!!

Love Drew Brees. What is going on in New Orleans couldn't happen to a finer human being and talented athlete.

Tom Brady in a Car Accident
Whiplash, no serious injuries.

Brees is class. I wish I were there. This guy absolutely HAS to be a fan favorite.

I concur!! Had enough of Brett Favrerererer!
I'm actually excited that the Eagles are FINALLY breaking out the Kelly Green throwbacks this Sunday! My favorite Eagles teams were under Vermeil and Buddy Ryan. Kolb does show promise -- luckily McNabb has killed off all the worms and other assorted critters that were living in the turf at the Linc so hopefully Kolb won't feel the need to sling a 90 mph burner into the grass 5 yards away :-)

*AHEM*

Did you hear that the Mayor of Irving said he hoped that Dallas didn't make it to this SB? Because he thought it would be better for the tourism economy to have two teams from out of the area here. Whatever!

Isn't the new stadium in Arlington, not Irving? :uhsure: :-)

I would imagine so.

I don't imagine any team's fans coming in would help Irving's economy anymore...unless it was the Old Mexico Cucarachas or something.

Las Colinas is their cash cow, I would imagine.

The Seahawks are going all the way!
To the end of the regular season...

Just where is Shaun Alexander these days anyway?
-
A blip on the radar...
http://www.nfl.com/players/shaunalexander/profile?id=ALE617460
He's their 4th string tailback, I believe.
-
Just where is Shaun Alexander these days anyway?
Not sure.
There's a reason for the line of tiny text. :-)
I'll settle for a .500 season.
-
I'll give them a fair bit of credit for their draft, Mike. Okung, Thomas, and Golden Tate? (Who I think will be starting very soon, actually) I think they've made some moves to put them just over .500. Plus, they acquired DE Raheem Brock. Guy's not bad.
-
I thought Favre looked tired last night.
-
I did notice that. Mark my words: He's going to crumple up before season's end. Injured beyond repair, or a totally crappy season that has everyone talking, and me ecstatic.
Watch it happen...
-
I have that feeling too, that he wont make it through the season. But I need to see another game or two.
-
Lessee here . . . After the first round of games (the 1:00 ones) . . .
Looks like MIA wins over BUF
Looks like NE wins over CIN
ATL and PIT are tied at 9 with 1:40 to go in the 4th
TB up on CLE by 3 with 44 seconds in the 4th
NYG up on CAR by 15 with just under half of the 4th to go
CHI up by 5 on DET with 1:32 to go in the 4th
HOU beating IND by 17 with 1:56 to go in the 4th
DEN and JAX tied at 17 with over 11 minutes to go in the 4th
I'll stop here.
-
Couple of thoughts so far:
- Megatron (Calvin Johnson) got absolutely ROBBED!
- Loved the Texans upsetting the Colts! Made my day.
- I hate to say I told some of you about Seattle, but... :-)
- SCREW Mike McCarthy. Packers win IN SPITE of him. His mantra of going to the prevent defense at the end of games (and costing us a few) is just BONEHEAD
- When did we get that new reputation thing? Today? Haven't seen it before. Nice.
- And just to let all of you know, I'll not be on for the majority of Sundays from now until Februrary. It's football season. ;)
Now it's time for me to settle in, and watch the Redskins take on the 'Boys.
-
I HATE VICK in Eagles green . . . I don't care how he plays :hammer: :hammer: :hammer:
That is all . . .
-
I thought Favre looked tired last night.
Forgot his Geritol. :rotf:
-
Jets came into the season as I feared they would, thinking they didn`t need an offense as no one would score on them...wrong.
Take note everyone, lose the opening game you don`t play in the last one, very few exceptions to that rule.
-
More bad news for the Jets. Their offense may have been deplorable last night, but their defense just took a HUGE hit! DT Kris Jenkins is about to go on the IR with a complete ACL tear. Ouch.
http://www.nfl.com/news/story/09000d5d81a877a3/article/jets-dt-jenkins-sustains-torn-acl-for-second-year-in-a-row?module=breaking_news
There goes the QB pressure.
-
Looks like KC's draft picks are going to pan out with Berry and McCluster. Crennel finally has the talent on D playing lights out.
-
Return by McCluster last night was stupendous.
I actually have him on one of my fantasy rosters, but didn't start him, because all the "experts" said he'd be out with illness.
:censored:

Green Bay Packers running back Ryan Grant is done for the year after he suffered an ankle injury in the season opener against the Philadelphia Eagles, a league source told NFL.com senior writer Steve Wyche.
Damn it!! (http://www.nfl.com/news/story/09000d5d81a87f7f/article/packers-grant-will-miss-remainder-of-season-with-ankle-injury?module=breaking_news)
-
Dogkilla starting at QB this week since Kolb's brains are still too scrambled . . . guess I'll look for something else to watch damnit  :censored:
-
Pardon the language, but this is funny! (my apologies to 49ers fans)

I think Deanna threw that pass. :-)
-
There's also a YouTube of it but I thought the gif made the point much more efficiently! :-)
Brett Moleman! :lmao:
-
Now he may warm the bench in three days time. Hmmm...
I'm personally just hoping that Clay Matthews is back for the game against the Fins. We're so depleted by injury this year, we need all the help we can get. It's lucky A-Rod is feeling better/practicing too. Flynn isn't bad, but he's no #12.

The Redskins would not have come back and won that game if CM hadn't been injured -- he's a beast! McNabb was running for his life before he went out with the hamstring injury.
-
Exactly, and even after CM went out, he was still knuckling that ball. Maybe out of a wee bit of fear that was still in him from previous plays.
