Title: Some pics from today's Tea Party Protest
Post by: Ballygrl on September 06, 2010, 01:30:46 PM
Here's an SUV with bumper stickers, I kind of laughed because the progressives get so mad at our bumper stickers LOL:

We had about 1,500 people turn out, now major speakers, here's some of the rally:

This guy was foreign born, I meant to ask him if he was a former Democrat because of the sign in the middle, he's going to the 9/12 rally next week, he was very nice:

These were the backs of the signs:

These are magnetic signs I picked up at previous rallies and this rally, I don't put them on my car because I don't want anyone to steal them:

I love the Judgement Day 1 too. We had fun. Oh and something happened at the rally that made me laugh, I said OMG this is like a :bouncy: except it really isn't a :bouncy: I laughed because I said if I post this I'll sound like someone at DU looking for accolades, which I'm not, but if I don't post it than as usual the unfounded stereotype about conservatives is allowed to flourish, so I'll post it. Hubby and I were walking around and decided to get a hot dog, so we're finishing the hot dog and decide to have a smoke, this poor guy comes up to me in a tie dye t-shirt and asks me for 1 cigarette, he said I'm sorry to ask but I have no money for a pack, so I said sure, I had 4 in my handbag so I gave him 3, he was very sweet and said you don't have to do that, I told him don't worry about it, he was so glad and he said God Bless. So we're getting ready to leave and he's talking to some other men who seem down on their luck, so I told hubby to wait, and I give the guy $20 and told him to buy a few packs of cigarettes for himself, he had this shocked look on his face and started telling me he's a little down on his luck, and I told him don't worry about it, at 1 time or another people are down on their luck and have been there. Again he said God Bless and we were on our way. Hubby got a little ticked off that I did that because he said how do you know the guy isn't a scammer, of course I don't know that, but who knows, maybe this guy had a perception of conservatives and maybe the stereotype at least in his mind now is unfounded.

That's awesome thanks for posting! :cheersmate:
It's funny. Ever think about this??!?! Every time there is a tea party or a conservative/right wing rally or protest, there is ALWAYS an American flag flying and waving in the air. How many flags do you see at the liberal/progressive movements?!?! NONE!!! So much for loving/showing your patriotic pride! :bird: :censored:

Always American Flags flying proudly, there were also quite a few Don't Tread On Me flags and Don't Tread On Me t-shirts, I was hoping to pick 1 up there but they didn't have any. 1 guy had "I'm Joe the Plumber" t shirt on, I loved it. Now granted I've never been to a left wing protest but of course I've seen them on TV and people at conservative protests are so different, they smile, they're nice and kind, they clean up after themselves, and there was just 1 cop patrolling and I can't tell you the # of people that just went up to him to shake his hand. We walked the entire perimeter and there was not 1 piece of garbage on the ground, when people were eating or snacking they'd walk over to the garbage can to throw everything away.

Here's a couple of the speakers if anyone wants to hear what they had to say:

Did he immediately whip out a counterfit money pen to check the twenty?  That might be a good first indication. :rotf:

Seriously, sounds like you did a decent thing.

He was a little mad I did that, hubby can be pretty cheap at times, I'm like I refuse to argue about this so don't even go there. I think that was the only dispute of the entire Tea Party Rally LOL.
