Sharron Angle hit with R-J copyright infringement lawsuit
By Steve Green
Friday, Sept. 3, 2010 | 7:50 p.m.
The Las Vegas Review-Journal’s copyright infringement lawsuit partner on Friday sued U.S. Senate candidate Sharron Angle over R-J material posted on her website, allegedly without authorization.
The suit, filed in U.S. District Court in Las Vegas by Righthaven LLC, seeks damages of $150,000 against Angle personally and forfeiture of her website domain name sharronangle.com.
The Democratic Party of Nevada, which has also been sued by Righthaven, charged in an Aug. 23 press release that the Review-Journal had a double standard to “hold Angle harmless while suing the Democratic Party and progressive organizations.â€

Classic dirty campaign trick. This outfit wanted the domain name "sharronangle.com" just so she couldn't have it, then. I'm waiting with bated breath to see who this rag endorses for the Nevada senate race.

They are a copyright troll. Reminds me of Michael Crook.

He worked in the same firm where Barack and Michelle Obama used to work at.

I know Right Haven targets both left (DU), right (FR), and apolitical (Buy Dog Beds), but interesting to note this.

How many are political candidates running against the current majority leader in the Senate?

The LVRJ endorsed Obama in 2008. I'm not having any luck finding one for 2010.

I posted a link with Gibson's connection to Obama.

LVRJ supports Reid. As does the Las Vegas Sun.

Screw 'em, her best course is to not settle and keep using the site, without a TRO or restraining order they don't have a chance of getting the rights to the site until a year after the election. As long as she has the bucks herself to fight for it, she'll make it cost far more for them to win it (If they ultimately do) than they'll ever get from her.
