Many Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama supporters are ready to spurn the Democratic party and vote for John McCain in November if their candidate doesn’t win the presidential nomination, according to a new poll out Wednesday.
And a second poll out Wednesday shows most voters — including 85 percent of Democrats — believe there’s a chance that the battle between Clinton and Obama will not be resolved before the August convention.
Among people who identified themselves as Hillary Clinton supporters, 28 percent said they would vote for McCain if Obama is his opponent, the March 7-22 Gallup Poll Daily election tracking survey found.

I can't imagine this would actually happen, surely one wouldn't vote against one's principles that way. Still, it adds to the fun of the primaries.

Why would we be surprised at all at this? McCain is....after all.....more of a democrat than he is a republican.....
If he doesn"t get the "squishy middle" vote, he is dead meat.....I seriously doubt that we'll see conservatives turning out in droves in November to vote for him, it is just too easy for a lot of folks who are not terribly excited about politics to stay home.....

i think there are enough democrats who are not lefties who just want the Clintons out of the party. getting rid of that family may be worth it to them .. and McCain is able to work with their side, so he is no big threat to them.
i could see it happening very easily..

I think they will. Whether hussein or mrs. clinton gets the nod as they start spouting their Socialist policies I think Conservatives will be scared back to the voting booth.

The depth of ate for mrs. clinton (actually, bubba, too) at DU has been breathtaking. You know they are finally able to say openly what they have been thinking privately. It makes FR look like a clinton cheerleader site.
And the overblown investment in mrs. clinton camp has been equally astonishing. They not only want to throw hussein under the bus, they want him to ride in the back on the trip to the spot to do so.
