Right, so I work in the benefits dept of a 500-1000 people company, and just got our renewal of 14%. This is pretty average, especially considering our experience in the past year. I am hearing/seeing all of these stories of how plan designs have changed, and premiums have gone up. Am just curious, if any of y'all are experiencing a hit, and if so, how much, and why?
Thanks in advance for any input you feel free to share.

I won't know until our contract is up next June, though we might see some changes in other areas late in December.

Everyone will start feeling it by January when the new taxes kick in to fund it... .

We definitely are getting hit. My husband brought home the papers showing the increases, but I'm not sure where they were placed. If/when I find them, I will post it. If not, I'm sure we will get another copy January 1, 2011.

Another aspect few people are as yet aware of, is that due to the cuts in Medicare which have already begun with the cancelling of Medicare Advantage, as well as across the board cuts in physician and hospital reimbursements, many hospitals have already begun laying off personnel.
Our local hospital has already eliminated 20% of the staff across the board including both doctors and nurses.

I had out patient surgery in March. Got a hospital bill for $900. Medicare payments to doctors and nurses are going down. I can not wait to get rid of that lousy United Healthcare (Secure Horizon) when new registration take place in a couple of months. Customer service is lousy.

Maybe Obama bought into all that messiah crap he was seeing from his adherents. He thought he could do with health care what Jesus did with the Loaves and Fishes.

He's a liar.
Some dummie in Nevada (I believe in Carson City) wants to impose a 2% tax on food. We have taxes on my damn energy drinks now. I am NOT happy at all. Those little 20 calorie drinks are my favorite. F-er's.
When Obama said that no one making under $250,000 would see a single dime in new taxes, HE LIED! Of course I do not need to preach this here. That's just for any lurking DUmmies.
I don't give two craps if energy drinks are "bad" for me. I like them and will drink them if I wish. Not like they will kill me. Since the taxes on them, I have quit buying them. You're not getting my .24 cents.

I see it in the news. Drugs getting cut off to people because of the FDA says not needed.

I work for a Fortune 19 company and our annual enrollment happens in November.
I'm reasonably sure that LOTS of adjustments will be needed.
Thanks, Zero. :bird:
