And why did you choose it? Some usernames are duh! I know it is obviously your name or one that you like. But for the crazy names here, what does it mean?
My name means sun in French and is part of my real name.
-
My mama gave it to me. :innocent:

At the time Free Republic started requiring registration, I was a big fan of the computer game franchise, Duke Nukem and was looking forward to Duke Nukem Forever, which never came out and then I just stuck with it.
The reason I use "Nukum" instead of the proper spelling is because that is the spelling in the first games due to trademark rights or something.

Yeah, about that...... my first foray into forum-ing, I had a very generic name. A lot of nasty stuff went down there, and so I deleted my account. But then I came back to it, and I had to start all over, with a new user name.....so I picked an acronym: I am so sick and F-ing Tired of this Sh!t. IassaFTots was born. And I just kept it.
-
I couldn't come up with anything better.

My user name came from my actual name. My Mom did not want to name me a normal name Jane or June, as she told me when I was born she had no idea what I would look like as I grew.
She gave me an old unusual name so if I grew into a plain Jane people would give me a second look. Ask about the name and notice me
I followed suit and gave my girls unusual names that get attention.
But then one never knows, back in the 70's I bought one of those True Detectives and found a story on a woman with my first and last name that had been murdered in the desert outside LosVagas----- Spooky.

What did you name your girls?
-
Old Dungeon and Dragons character name. Could not think of any thing else.
-
God, I hated that game.
-

The first born the hospital miss spelled her name , it was supposed to be Gillana but they put a J instead of the G. It was only when she went to school and I needed her birth certificate that I realised the problem.
Second girl I named Velvette.

I use my married name because it's the perfect alias. :-)
-
I go by my middle name, so Mike. Not sure about the 220. It meant something at some point, but I don't remember at this point.

I've spent the last year trying to figure out what it meant. That's creative.

When I signed up on military.com about 7-8 years ago...it was my first venture onto a forum, and I just typed in my name....only to find out I should have been considerably more creative, then I was too embarassed to ask anyone how to change it to something else. :thatsright: I've just kept it as I moved to usmilnet with Kevin, Thor, Eupher and a few others, and over to here.
Pippi is from Pippi Longstocking. Not only is she a redhead :-), but she reminds me of my daughter, who loved the book and was Pippi for Halloween ...several times.

I've spent the last year trying to pronounce it.... :rotf:
-
Nuff said.
Creativity was one of the many things left out of the batch when I was put together.
-
Simple, actually. Both my Catholic high school and my college used "Saints" as their mascots. My state is pretty blue, with everything in the Democrats' control.
-
I work for the railroad as a Locomotive Engineer.
-
I like to live, work and play where I can see for many miles. I also tend to plan ahead.
-
Bijou is a very minor character in the Anthony Powell series of books 'A Dance to the Music of Time', my mod alter ego Mrs Erdleigh is a more major character in the same series.
-
I've spent the last year trying to pronounce it.... :rotf:
Hell, I can't even pronounce it!!!!!!!!!! :lmao:

Iassa I think you win for the most "wondered" about! Mine is pretty obvious as I signed up here in the midst of a real call out from the left over the Tea Party participants.

I keep this name on most boards, but it started on the Cubs message board just after Tood Hundley was traded from the Cubs. It was originally thundley, but that name , along with thundley1, 2, and three were banned for troll fighting. I've mellowed and don't post after drinking anymore.

Would you believe I figured that out on my own? It was yours that I had difficulty with. :-)

Well, as I have played the euphonium for some 40 years, those of us who do so are generally called "Euphers".
But I'm a glutton for punishment. It's not enough to do that, I have to play tenor trombone, bass trombone, and tuba.
Yeah, I know. There's a whole lotta knuckle-draggin' goin' on.
I've adopted this as a manifesto that ranks right down there with knuckle-draggin'.
THE LOW BRASS PLAYER'S CREED
Blow the ****ing shit out of it man and don't give a ****ing inch and let'm know you're back there and that you don't give a damn about their temperamental prima donna horse shit attitudes because you are a LOW BRASS PLAYER and that means you got to ****in' nail it to the wall and to that you got to be a real ****ing man, with a chin (dwandle-deedle) and that means you're gonna by-God nail and plow and wahf and drag and push the "lead the whole damn section" through every part no matter what it is - Mozart of Mahler (hell they're all the same ain't they, besides a 'fortsando is a fortsando') and if they don't like it they can by-God find another player because you don't need their damn money and those sissy-ass conductors and tin eared string players (those turds 'think' they can hear the grass grow) and the damn twiddly-dink woodwind players that are so sure that all low brass players want to play loud all the time CAN JUST KISS MY ASS and if they don't want to pay you double-****ing scale, they can simply get screwed for all you care cause they couldn't replace you with a player half as good and they can just stick that bloody contract up their aristocratic assholes cause if they don't appreciate a big ****ing sound with some body and breadth and projection and carrying power, you don't want any part of this orchestra (such shitty management anyway) and they can take the whole symphony society and/or art alliance and shove it cause you're fed up with this amateur bullshit and they can come across with some real bread or **** off or they'll be hunting another player because you've got a million other offers and you've got no problem playing the horn because you can ****ing read!
:-)

I don't have an inferiority complex :evillaugh:

I signed up at CU (conservative underground) as BrownEyeGirl. Everyone called me BEG. After the crash at CU I registered again but used BEG instead. When CC was born and everyone was signing up over here I just decided to use BEG.
-
"Splash" was a college nickname after a foul ball and a very large mud puddle during a softball game.
-
I'm not a snob when it come to wine.
-
Mine's a 'Duh,' at least for anyone who's ever been in the Army. I started out my career as a tank crewman in M60-series tanks.

I remember that game. WAs it also a game for the Nintendo or Playstation? (or one of the versions of Nintendo...)
Yeah, there were a couple of non-computer games for the Playstation and one of the Nintendo systems.

It was called Duke Nuke'm Forever, because that is how long people have to wait for it to come out.
