Are Democrats so closed minded and scared that they do not allow free discussion?
I started a link on the fact that windmills will not lower CO2 emissions. That link was shut down by censors for no other reason than they do not want an open debate on a vital issue concerning the survival of the human race. I am a registered Democrat, and I do not believe in the renewable energy fad any more than I believe that Jesus could turn water into wine or could walk on water. Renewable energy has become a mindless faith based religion, not a science based endeavor to save our planet.
Science is nether Democrat nor Republican. Science is based on provable facts. Has wind power reduced carbon emissions in Denmark? NO! Have biofuels given us energy independence or lowered CO2 emissions? No! Biofuels are the worst man made disaster of the 21st century that have done more harm than any other new activity of man. Please be open minded and allow free debate. When you get energy policy wrong, millions starve to death because FOOD EQUALS ENERGY AND ENERGY EQUALS FOOD!
Economist Michael J. Trebilcock studied wind power and found that Wind power is a complete disaster. He points out that the United States Government subsidizes wind power at a rate of $23.34 per MWh compared to just $.25 for natural gas, $.44 for coal, $.67 for hydroelectric power, and $1.59 for nuclear power (2008 EIA statistics). Trebilcock discovered that Denmark has over 6,000 wind turbines that supplement its energy grid, but has not been able to close even a single fossil fuel power plant as a result, because extra fossil energy is needed when the wind stops blowing. In 2006 carbon dioxide emissions in Denmark rose by a whopping 36%, showing that large scale wind power projects do not reduce greenhouse gas emissions in real-world situations. Because of wind power, Denmark now has the highest electricity rates in Europe. A recent study of Spain's energy program found that for every job created by state funded wind power schemes, 2.2 jobs were lost due to higher energy costs, and each new wind power job cost almost $2,000,000. in government subsidies. To meet 100% of United States electricity demand with wind power would require impossible weather conditions and a wind farm covering an area larger than Texas and Louisiana combined.

I am an HVAC tech and live in lib land NY so I am in their homes talking heating every day. When the subject of less greenhouse gas comes up I inform them I heat my home with wood. Then try to explain that wood heat is the only carbon neutral fuel. The look on their face's is priceless. None of them buy it. Some hick mechanic trying to tell them he's greener than them! Right wing sources, republican talking points they must be thinking.
Sometimes I even delve into trying to explain that to maintain an older car is greener that their new Prius. I try now to stay away from that one cause it can turn ugly. Smug ya know.
Erm....uh....yeah....about that. Funny how no one seems all that concerned about the environmental hazards of lithium mining, eh?We're not supposed to judge liberals by the results of their policies, only by the purity of their intentions. :whatever:

This is yet another take on the perpetual motion engine, this time a motor which magically produces five times the energy that is required to run it. Any real questions are carefully avoided in favor of open-mouthed wonder at a future without power stations, a world where energy is free, and the inventors, John Christie and Lou Britts, could stand to make “millions†by selling a box to every house in Oz.

Hey wait a minute! Isn't there a guy out there that professes to have a machine that once started, makes more electricity than it consumes?

Wind energy extraction does not necessarily *have* to use a lot of materials..
This post is prompted by the two recent locked threads here regarding wind energy extraction.
Towers with propellers on them require a large amount of materials for the towers and the blades, that is necessitated by two things, the need to raise the blades into the air and the low velocity of winds close to the ground.
Both of those constraints can be overcome by thinking about wind energy in a non traditional way.
It is possible to harness wind energy with flying devices such as kites or even autogyros..

What he fails to tell ya is, if the wind speed exceeds 40mph, pump and all head into the next county!
hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!!
How in the heck does that thing work?? I mean I could see it pulling the kite OUT and generating some power (not much but some) but .... what the hell, do you have to go crank the thing back in by hand to let it go out again??
