Title: NRA declines to endorse Reid in Nevada Senate race
Post by: Chris_ on August 28, 2010, 12:31:37 PM
Associated Press (http://www.google.com/hostednews/ap/article/ALeqM5igFSnBxb2SXtLXoDTwdkLMNCvFLgD9HS5J680)

I don't know how much pull the NRA had in getting Reid elected last time, but this is good news.

Yes, it is good news, and I understand that Sharron Angle is rather . . . uhhh ummm . . . "eccentric" but why was whether or not to endorse the likes of Harry Reid an issue for the NRA in the first place?

Suck it, Reid.

My husband installed the GPS in Angle's vehicle yesterday for her events.  She rented something very simple.  A Ford Explorer.  She's a simpleton and that's why I like her.

She rented a gas guzzler? She should have rented a Prius.  :-)

I think that the NRA is responding to the backlash they are receiving from their initial premise to endorse Reid. I'm sorry, but there are better 2nd Amendment Advocate groups out there. The NRA  flip-flops as much as John Kerry.

Yeah....endorsements or not, the fact that the NRA contributed $5K to Reid's campaign cost them my membership next year........I realize that they are "single issue", but I simply won't support an organization that contributes to Democrats, regardless of how pro-gun they happen to be.

Many nonprofits donate to both sides to prevent issues with the frozen-out side claiming they are fronts for the opposite party.  However in the RKBA field, the Dem national platform has always been restrictive or silent at best, never 'Pro,' so with the exception of a few blue dogs that will stick to their principles (Rare, but it does happen) it makes no sense to give the Dems a dime.
