Title: A Glenn Beck Rally thread, perhaps???
Post by: The Hollywood NeoCon on August 27, 2010, 05:55:49 PM
Just wondering if anyone had started one yet. I wish like hell I could go, but considering that I'm gonna be kinda busy Sunday night ( :-)), I'll have to enjoy it vicariously through some other more fortunate friends.

Like my buddy Thomas over at SondraK's place: (http://www.sondrak.com/index.php/weblog/what_so_proudly_we_hail/)

An interesting thing happened on the plaza in front of the Lincoln Memorial this afternoon at about 1:00.  Amidst the preparations for Glenn Beck’s Restoring Our Honor Rally on The Mall tomorrow, the audio guys did a sound check.  They played The Star Spangled Banner.

About 95% (I’d guess) stopped in place, removed their hats, and put their hands over their hearts.  At the conclusion there was applause.  There was something in the air.  Moving.

For the DUmmy lurkers, go sniff a bus seat, you miserable little shits.  :bird: :loser: :evillaugh:

Have they said how many people they are expecting to attend?

Based on the amount of people on the Restoring Honor facebook page;

Quote
126,218 People Like This

I'd say it will be quite a lot. Maybe over that number. Maybe under. I have no idea.

I can imagine--will likely involve left-coast debauchery, or some such related activity.

Have some hors d'oeuvres for me.

Watching it now on C-SPAN.  I'd say that if you squared the "1,000" number, you'd be a lot closer to the actual number.

There might be a 1,000 people sitting from the left of the stage.  But I just turned on C-Span at 11am EST.  There are at least 50,000 people that I can see just from that camera angle.  I'd love for an aerial view, but it's restricted air space.  :(

Beck explained on his show yesterday the areas around the Lincoln Memorial and the approx. amount of the numbers of the crowd in each zone. Based on that, I'd guess about 300,000 in attendance as of 10 AM.

Maybe the media counted Al Sharpton's "rally"... that was probably 10, but they added some extra zero's to feel better.

The 1,000 number was cited by Beck when he came on stage this morning. It was sarcasm and a dig at the media. The camera panned the crowd after he said it.

DUmmies .... it was to do a couple of things but mostly it was a FUND RAISER.  You wouldn't want to know for whom the money was raised because you don't appreciate them but we do.

I turned on the rally right around the end of Sarah's speech.  Boo!

Crowds leave cups, gloves — even flags — on Mall
By Associated Press

POSTED: 07:30 p.m. EST, Jan 20, 2009

WASHINGTON: Inaugural revelers are lucky they didn’t get fined for littering.

As crowds cleared the city today, their trash covered the National Mall and Washington Monument grounds after President Barack Obama’s inauguration.

They left behind plastic bottles, newspapers, food wrappers, gloves and even American flags they had been waving.

Yep, the ones that destroy public housing, disrupt public gatherings, block the streets and highways, trash where they live, demand more free stuff and do not respect the property of others.

You know, these damn liberals should really come out of their shells and mingle with the people they so worry about.

Yup.  Marcus called the cops while he was chasing them, told them what had happened, told them he was chasing them and said "If I catch them before you do I'm going to kill them".

The dog was given to him to help him heal.

The guys who killed the dog tried to make it into a racial issue because they were Mexican.   :whatever:
