Bourbon (a good one, like Buffalo Trace)/Vodka (GAH!..tastes like...like...like vodka...and 2 lousy shots and it's a guaranteed hangover, too, for me, whereas I can drink a fair bit more bourbon or other whiskey; bit of the opposite, I'm told, of other people, for vodka)
I don't drink much hard stuff these days; more beer. But if I do, a good bourbon has always been my favorite. Least favorite, as said, vodka, although tequilla comes in near last also. Don't even like top-shelf tequillas.
-
All Smirnoff Vodka's. It's my favorite!
Least favorite? Jack Daniel's. It tastes like crap.
-
Bombay Sapphire Gin
Tequila...nasty
-
Gin is my least favorite.
The rest of them are a toss up. Although I'm really a w(h)ine kinda girl.
-
Favorite: Single malt scotch, the older the better.
Least: Tequila... :puke:
-
I'm a very picky drinker. :-)
Favorite....Grey Goose - required for martinis, Skyy or Stoli Vodka - if mixing.
A well done margarita....on the rocks...not top shelf.
Summertime .....Cruzan Black Cherry Rum and Lemonade
Winter.....warmed up B&B, with a lovely bit of chocolate.
Scotch will kill me, bourbon or whiskey are not options, ever. :puke:
Only time I will drink red wine, is on Sunday's from the Communion Chalice. White wine? very very rarely. Never beer.
I do like an occasional Smirnoff Black Ice. (my son calls them "P" drinks :whatever:)

Holy cow. I am just a beer-kinda old gal - but my gal pals like the hard stuff. They take me out and it's a wild time! Drinking and dancing and karoke.
They get a bit wild - and I laugh my butt off!
-
Absolut AbsoFrigginLutely!
-
Everclear.
-
Beer is #1. Liquor? It's a tie between Bombay Sapphire Gin, and Monopolowa Vodka.
Least Favorite?
Tequila. Let's just say we agree to disagree.
-
Looks like Tequila doesn't agree with a lot of people here. :evillaugh:
Me either.
I stick with vodka or bourbon when I'm not drinking beer.
-
Favorite...Captain Morgans Spiced plus just about anything else.
Least...Southern Comfort.
-
Crown Royal.
-
Everclear.
Wow. That's a good way to hurt yourself, thundley!
-
Oh, Thundley's just kidding.
I mainly drink beer, but my favorite hard stuff is Seagram's 7 with Diet Sprite. Crown Royal straight up in little sips is lovely, too, especially in winter.
Least fav: Scotch, even if it's very good. It tends to give me heartburn. No like that.
-
Everclear.
thundley....do you live in the Peoria area? :uhsure:
-

Farther south than that.

Dang, almost ditto for me except gotta go with 7-up with Seagram's 7. And Crown is da bomb anytime.
Any kind of Cognac I can't dig; don't like any syrupy liquor.
-
Fav = Pepsi One
Least = SF Red Bull (blech)
(/wet blanket mode)
-
Any decent Bourbon is my fav.
I like tequila, but it makes me meaner than a rattlesnake, so I stay away from it.
I don't care for cordials or any of that fu-fu crap (or as Deb's some would say, "P drinks")
Beer and wine are not qualifiers since we were supposed to be discussing hard liquor.
-
Monopolowa Vodka.
:werd:
And unfortunately I've never found it in the states, but Kurland vodka is really smooth.

Dude. You can get it in Addison. I know for a fact Sigels. And Legacy Liquor on Walnut Hill/35.
-
It's been many years since I've imbibed, but when I did, Stroh's rum from Austria was a fave. At the time I would sample this stuff, they offered two flavors - 120 proof and 160 proof. I stayed away from the 160 proof - that stuff was lethality in a bottle.
Wiki on Stroh (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stroh)
Jack Daniel's was okay, and I liked sipping on Crown Royal once in awhile.

Kurland? You sure? I've called or been to every liquor store I can find and no one has had it.
-
Fav: Bourbon, have a half-drank bottle of Woodford Reserve on deck right now.
Least: Crown Royal, we have never got along due to the taste and smell. It just doesn't sit right with me.
-
Straight, I'll go with a good whiskey; vodka or rum for mixed drinks.
Liqueur, or however the Hell you spell it, Apfelschnapps.
Gin and Jaeger are almost equally horrible, but gin wins as the most horrible-tasting distilled liquor ever.

Don't know how to spell the schnapps either...but it's good in hot cinnamon apple tea. :-)

Long day, I didn't read the Kurland part at the end of the sentence and thought you were talking about Monopolowa. I will keep my eyes peeled when I am on this side of town. Legacy is a USA-family owned shop, brand new. They may just order it for you if they can find it from their distributor.

Apparently they do import it. You can contact these guys and see if anyone in your area handles it:

I gotta say, Italian grappa is absolutely the worst horse-piss liquor ever invented by diabolical man.
As far as smell and taste go, it's a tossup between turpentine and formaldehyde. Acetone ranks in there somewhere.
On the licorice side, ouzo from Greece is pretty good (gotta be ice-cold), and Sambuca (a couple-three coffee beans in the shot glass, and ignited for a few seconds to release the oils) is also good after a nice meal.
-
Liqueurs are for the effeminate males, women or for cooking/ baking.

Not so in Europe. :uhsure:

Mmmph. Although not my favorite anything, I like some liqueurs. Sometimes I want something stronger than beer or even wine, but don't feel like going 80+ proof. There are so many, but there are some eastern European honey-based liqueurs I favor; naturally enough, since I'm pretty nuts for honey. Can't stand any of those cream liqueurs, though, eg, Bailey's and that lot. Thor, I've never felt an urge to get hair waxed off yet or drive a smart car.
Eupher, Ouzo has an anise taste, right? More stuff not for me.
Yes, grappa is nauseating.
-

Yeah, I agree. I like real bourbon, not charcoal-filtered nonsense. It even tastes like charcoal. Why would I want charcoal in my bourbon? What happened, did the original maker wake up one day and say, "gee, you know, what this sourmash really needs is some charcoal in it, yeah, that'll make it taste sooooo good."? Sheesh. Talk about "on the rocks."
-
I really can't do much hard liquor at all, but I love margaritas, and they are best with Patron tequila. And that is the only liquor I can shoot.
I do like Bloody Marys, and I prefer either Absolut or Grey Goose. And Absolut Peppar is really good for Bloody Marys.
Worst? Any kind of gin. Oh my grossness.
-
If it's free, it's for me. Unless you're buying Southern Comfort -- hell no.
-
The very first time I had handcuffs professionally applied, was after a night of Tequila.
The very most I've ever puked in one night, Tequila...
Tequila makes bad things happen to good people (me!)

So, sailor, you must have quite the collection...
-
Eupher, Ouzo has an anise taste, right? More stuff not for me.
Yeah, but it's not nearly as sweet as Sambuca. Pernod (from France) has a similar anise flavor, though not with the bite that ouzo has.
Yeah, I know. Not for you.

Fortunately you can find Monopolowa just about anywhere. I've even found it at the podunk E. TX liquor store I used to go to when I lived in Athens.

Thanks. Anytime I've had it before it was brought back from Estonia by a friend that lives over there. Hopefully I can get it on a more regular basis now.

Yukon Jack.. least Gin.

Isn't Yukon Jack a "liqueur" ??
-

I don't think so, Dogface!! :hammer: :hammer: :hammer: :hammer:
I can safely say that IF there is any liqueur in this house, it ain't mine and I most CERTAINLY don't drink it
-
Granted that about 99.9 percent of my alcohol consumption is beer, I will go this far:
Favorite--Kahlua (liqueur). After that, rum (preferably Captain Morgans). But you can count the number of times I drink either one in a year on one hand and have room to spare.
Least--Black Velvet. My old man saw to that when I was 15. Or at least I did. From then until the last time I saw him, he laughed his ass off every time he asked me, "Want a nip of my BV?" Southern Comfort and Yukon Jack are close seconds.
-

Happened to stop at Legacy tonight and asked, but my dumb butt couldn't remember anything but the K. They said if they could it, they would. I love those peeps.

Nuff said. JohnnyReb robs the piggybank and heads to the package store for ...Tequila.
-
I can only pick one I like?
-
I'm not really a hard liquor drinker, but I do LOVE Margaritas and I do like Tequila!! :cheersmate: :cheersmate:

YUP!! And doing the "nasty!! lol :naughty:
-
I do like margaritas on the rocks with a salted rim. I usually have at least one every three months or so. I'm not a big drinker after too many close calls with death when I was younger. :evillaugh:
I also like a good bloody mary about twice a year.
I have not drank beer since BadCat was in town. :innocent:
Up until I was about 35 or so, I used to drink the shit out of baccardi & cokes.
Oh yeah...Kahula....in a white Russian....good stuff and a rare treat.
It's hard to turn down free drinks at the local casinos but I do. I don't want to feel like shit the next day or do any more stupid stuff in life.
-
YUP!! And doing the "nasty!! lol :naughty:
Tequila=Getting Drunk on Shots at a party when we finished our MIOBC class in Feb'80 at Ft. Huachuca. Drunk azz guys doing parachute "landings" off the roof of the benighted Major's house who had the idiocy to invite 30 or so 21-23 year old lieutenants to celebrate passing the officers' basic course.
My date was hugging the toilet and sleeping on the bathroom floor by midnight. Frikking lightweight. It took me a few more hours to achieve a like status. I have vague memories of liberating the major's hamster. Thought the beastie was being smothered in his cage. I opened the hatch and he made a run for the border. Or at least the garage. That's where the major's wife found him three days later. :rotf:
Funny, none of us ever got invited back to the house.

Getting naked at the county jail for a strip search is not fun!

All I can say is you haven't read the same kind of books as I have. :uhsure:

This thread was a bad influance. Just returned from a date on which I had three bloody mary's tonight. Now she's sleeping & I'm online.

Coming in late to the thread...
I'm a beer guy. When I don't drink good beer:
Favs?
Bailey's on the rocks.
Jameson's
Least?
Tequila. I had a bad experience...
-
I keep reading about how tequila does a number on people.
It guess it must be that worm in the bottle. Toxins and all....
-

In the winter a shot of Bailey's in a cup of coffee is nice.

Tequila, the last time I drank it was in the early 80's late 1978! I still remember the sunrise!
-

That's my story! :-)
I will modify my dislike for tequila, though. I do enjoy a good margarita.

Favorite has to be Bailey's  least favorite Jim Beam :puke:
