This young ultra-conservative tech was in my office area (http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=389x9009233)

working on the surveillance system. he goes about the upgrades and I do my work. he looks at my computer screen and sees an image of the 9-11 rubble and the quotes of Mike Moran's speech at the Concert for NYC.

He nonchalantly asks: So, what do you think of the Mosque at ground zero?

I tell him that I have no problem with it, as the Muslims as a whole are a peaceful group and have a right to worship in America.

He says: They were not so peaceful on 9-11 I have a problem with it!

I throw this at him:
Then you have to agree that we need to close all catholic schools and bar their churches from being near schools due to the rampant child rape by priests. You also must have a problem with the "Christians" who murdered abortion providers and bombed their clinics in the name of God!

He mutters; I have a problem with the rape and he shuts up.

When Catholics start flying planes into buildings and calling for a jihad then we'll talk about banning the Catholic Church by Ground Zero.

Zero bongs!

Unless of course it left out the part where the "ultra conservative", whatever that means, slapped the shit out of 'im/'er for trying to compare the two!

Freekkin' slug!

He says: "They were not so peaceful on 9-11 I have a problem with it!" at which point he rips the carpal tunnel sleeves of my noodly arms, picks me up by the collar and shoves a picture of his warmongering, career, E-8 Army brother in my face. After I immediately evacuated my bowels, I pretty much caved right there.

FIFY, ****stick.  :bird:

"I think you're the sexiest man I've ever seen," and remove my top, at which point he laughs hysterically at the fact that I am, indeed, a man.

He mutters; "I have a problem with you" and he shuts up. Then he leaves.

FIFY again, dipshit.

Do these idiots not know anything about Islam? Hell, the Muslim Imams are worse child molesters than any Catholic priest every was. It's spelled out in there holy books on how to do it so as not to offend Allah. Screw animals, thigh a baby, sex with young boys below the age of puberty, etc..

Here is one thing that should make it clear that the 9-11 mosque is nothing more than a punch in the eye. And, of course, none of the talking heads are mentioning.

VIRTUALLY NOBODY LIVES IN THAT NEIGHBORHOOD.

It is all businesses.

So, Mosqueteers.. tell me how this is a neighborhood mosque, when there is no neighborhood for it to serve? And if its not there to serve a neighborhood as its proponents claim, what is it there for ?

Don't go confusing the touchy-feely libs with facts.

Indeed. I'm hoping that at least one primitive will challenge my assertion, do a little research and learn what I said is true.

This Mosque is ' built for the community ' where there is none. Yet, the per-existing Greek Orthodox church reconstruction has been sidelined by the port authority, in part because of the cost, and in part because the church only serves a few dozen people, and in part because the port authority wants to move the church to another site outside of the business district. So, this project is stalled.

Anyone see the disconnect here ?

What disconnect?

Christianity is like holy water is to satan for a lib! Islam, the great conqueror is the savior of the left! Anything to bring division to the American people! They thrive on dividing the country!

We're just about ready to put them in their place!

There will be quite alot more than a handful of people at the new mosque as it will become a tourist attraction for islam. They'll be overrun with the faithful all coming to pray at the scene of their greatest triumph.

Well, yes. Thats the purpose.

If it were a neighborhood mosque as advertised, it would serve the local residents as do about 100 mosques already in NYC, or about 200 total in Manhattan. But there are no local residents to serve. This mosque and 'cultural center' is intended to be Mecca in the USA.

Exactly, right?!?! How come every time we hear of a car bomb going off, it's in the Middle East or from someone that is Islamic. Not Catholic, not Jewish, not Orthodox, etc, etc. Weird, huh?!?! ::)
hey DUmmie = GO F*** YOURSELF you idiot. :bird: It's a "victory" mosque. Do your homework and don't believe what the gubberment tells you, (especially that Bloomberg piece of garbage), or what these "diversity czars" tell you. :censored: :bird:

I remember hearing something a few years ago, at the time there were either 25 or 26 wars going on in the world at that time and they all involved Muslims, so what does that say?

That's like me telling all of you about the guy who changed our light bulbs.  He said that I was "un-American for dissing on the Chevy Volt"... yep, true story.  It totally 10000% happened.

The numbers I heard were a lot higher.

I heard that out of 120 or so "hot spots" or actual shooting conflicts that were happening, all but 4 involved muzzies.

Peaceful lot, those muzzies.

Damned right it was "un-American".

It's a Chevy, right?  Baseball, hot dogs, apple pie, etc.

Nothing--and that's the OP's point.  None that a reasonably sane person would have.

Nothing really, the DUmmies would just rather bash Catholics than allow any perceived insult to Islam.

I'll post this again, it can't be posted enough when it comes to this issue:

“We've finally given liberals a war against fundamentalism, and they don't want to fight it. They would, except it would put them on the same side as the United States.”
