$90 copay on a $110 prescription

Up from $10 last month.

Remind me again which part of the Obama Healthcare Bill will fix this?

Is it the part where the government is prohibited from negotiating lower drug prices?

Is it the part where we can't import cheaper drugs from Canada?

Is it the part where the drug companies get to hold monopolies for 12 years on their most expensive products?

Or is it the part where I'm forced to pay for shitty insurance with no price controls or competition?

THANK GOD IT PASSED.

1.  THANK GOD IT PASSED. :eyes: Indeed!

Partner and myself: $895 a month for BC/BS $10,000 (each) annual deductible 70/30 in network policies, co-pays, and no Rx coverage unless we spend over $1,000 deductible for presceiptions. Both over 50, we can't drop it because of pre-existing conditions. (Remember the pre-existing exclusions for adults aren't ending until 2014.)

I don't know if we can afford to keep this up. We're afraid if some catastrophe happened our home could be taken. That happens to people because of medical costs they can't afford.

There isn't help for many. Who knows what will happen in 2014?

Self-employed. Not denied insurance but the premiums are so high, must choose between paying rent or paying for health insurance.

My asthma meds alone are over $250.00/month (just for two prescriptions). Still, that's way cheaper than what'd cost me for health insurance ($600+ per month premium -- due to my age and pre-existing asthma and degenerative spinal disease.) And then there's that $12,000 I am trying to pay off--$100 each month--to the county for two days of hospitalization for pneumonia in August 2009.

I'd move to Canada in a heartbeat, but can't afford the immigration fees (and would likely have a hard time getting accepted due to my age and medical status). Being a member of the working poor in Ameriker sucks.

68. Hmm... what company and policy type do you have?

I'd like to look that up and see exactly what their current rates are and how they compare to three months ago.

Getting sarcastic when he's asked about his plan

119. I'm sorry. Did you say you switched insurance companies??

That's not what your original post said. You said your copays "have been cut in half" -- meaning, some company cut your copays. There's no way that switching insurance companies can be interpreted as your copays having been "cut in half". Once again, you're being deceptive.

"your health insurance costs will go down for everyone" [/Obama]

Preach it brother!    But you don't have to tell the seven MILLION seniors like my wife and myself that are losing our "Advantage" plans next year, thanks to Obamacare, and are going to be forced to pay a lot extra for equivalent coverage........the same seven MILLION people that are going to crawl over broken glass to vote for ANY Republican that is running in the next few election cycles (assuming we live that long)..........

And lest the DUmmies forget, Obama didn't win by seven million votes, so he's toast in 2012.....regardless who runs against him..........on this single factor alone.

The "back story" on the rich kid the grazing primitive, the "jgraz" primitive, was that he was one of the most enthisiastic supporters of il Duce Bo during the Democrat presidential primaries of 2008.

He was also really active in getting supporters of the worthier candidate for the Democrat nomination booted from Skins's island.

He especially hounded and harassed the cboy4 primitive, the only primitive on Skins's island with a sense of humor.

The grazing primitive is an arrogant jerk, and deserves all the misery he gets, and ten times more.

I care about decent and civilized people, but frankly, I don't care if the grazing primitive has to pay a $500 co-pay for a bottle of aspirin.  What goes around comes around.

I have to say Frank, I find it hard to feel sorry for any person who voted for Obama and that includes the fleeing Independents who voted for Obama, and they just voted for him because they wanted to say "look at me I voted for Obama even though he's black, I'm not racist"! :censored:

ETA that I can feel sorry for someone's plight, but it's hard to feel 100% sorry for someone when they elect a person that's changed the lives of so many people for the worse.

And Mexico.  Don't forget, we're the racists for wanting to secure our borders, but conveniently forget what Mexico does to people who illegally cross it's southern border.

None of this BS is remotely true!

I had to resign from Home Depot due to the pending surgery on my neck and COBRA is only $396/month including my pharms, and it's high dollar Aetna! I've already met my $3,000 out of pocket, so they have been payin' for everything since! It's a hassle once in a while, mostly due to how my med providers screw up the paperwork, but damn, I sure as hell don't pay the prices these asshats "brag" about!

WTF, just what company do these people deal with for their expenses to be 3x what mine are?

Why is it we sane people who can see this coming miles and miles and years and years away must still suffer these fools?

It's rare for a copay to change in August without a policy change.

AR, on COBRA, you are now paying 100% of the total cost of your coverage, as billed to HD.  Plus, a 2% admin fee.  Seeing as HD is a pretty large outfit, they have more people to share the burden of cost.  The smaller the company, the higher the cost.

I realize that, but who did these people work for where the cost of cobra is $1100/month?

Ma and Pa Kettle?

I hear ya.  My company pays 75-80% of the cost of insurance.  COBRA for multiple family members ranges in  cost anywhere from 733.93 up to 1460.  For medical only.  We employ 750 ish people.
