Howard Dean: "mosque" should move
By Glenn Greenwald
(updated below)
Certain things are disappointing and surprising even for the most hardened cynics. Hearing Howard Dean -- the former liberal standard-bearer -- join Newt Gingrich and Sarah Palin by saying the following is definitely one of them:
Video at link~
Making this more repellent is that he doesn't even the "I-want-to-get-re-elected" excuse. Today, former Reagan Solicitor General Ted Olson -- whose wife, Barbara Olsen, was killed on 9/11 -- said he saw no reason for Park51 to move. And Peter Beinart, expediting his transformation from TNR Seriousness Guardian into shrill liberal blogger, today called on Democrats to -- as he put it -- "Grow a Pair" by standing up to this increasingly toxic campaign. Yet here comes Howard "Democratic wing of the Democratic Party" Dean, advocating that the vicinity of Ground Zero be turned into a Muslim-free zone because some people don't want Muslims near it. It's episodes like this which breed increasing levels of pervasive disgust and even indifference about electoral outcomes.
UPDATE: After hearing Dean say this, I wrote on Twitter: "Please: nobody ask Russ Feingold what he thinks of Park51 - really couldn't stomach hearing him say it should move - difficult race or not." Thanks to amites for pointing out that Feingold -- in an extremely difficult re-election battle in a purple state -- has already spoken out in favor of the community center remaining right where it is. Just as impressively, Alexi Giannoulias -- the Democratic nominee for Senate in Illinois (for Obama's old seat) -- came out and strongly supported Park51 as well. So those two stand in stark and impressive contrast to Dean. And see this Ann Tenales cartoon suggesting a new campaign ad for Harry Reid.

I'd like to say 'It couldn't happen to a more deserving dipshit,' but really, the Democrats have so gosh-darn many even-more-deserving dipshits...

Ya know, the longer this thing drags on, the more I'm mindful of what the VietCong must've been thinking -- they knew they would eventually prevail, given the increasing intensity of the chaos going here back at home over the war. So it is with the primitives; the more they begin to turn and feed on each other, the more vitriolic and absurd they become, the more assured we are of our eventual success. Personally, I'd almost be willing to buy Dean and Reid a beer. Of course, I'd be sure to piss in it first, but there ya go.
It is no longer a question of "if," people. Just a question of "when." :cheersmate:

I was browsing this thread when it occurred to me the result of extreme pressure is implosion. Dummies are under extreme pressure. :hi5:

The disgusting thing is that libs don`t give a damn about religious freedom, that issue is not the cause for dislike of this, they want it for the sole reason that it sticks a finger in the USAs eye.

When are these people going to get a clue? only 20% of Americans think a Mosque should go there near Ground Zero.

They don't want a clue. They think 80% of this country deserves to die. Literally.

We should be thankful they are not building a mosque on the remains of the ****ing White House.

I still wonder which room Obama tosses out his prayer rug in and how does he mark the direction of Mecca? The DUmmies would likely support building a Mosque near the Pentagon.

Uhm DUmmies would rejoice over tearing down the Pentagon to be replaced by a Mosque.
Not that they want religion of any kind but view jihadists as brothers in arms against western capitalism.

Friggin' Feingold probably loves the ideas of a temple dedicated to Muslim extremists. I'm sure he thinks a building to stockpile w4eapons is just a fabulous idea. Prick.
However, I'm glad Howie at least thinks it's a BEYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHD idea.

Libs have no common sense, so for them "to get a clue", is impossible. :mental:
It makes them feeeel good that they are letting them build "a place of worship". STUPID! STUPID! STUPID!! :bird: :censored: :bird:

They've been fighting to get their church rebuilt against The Port Authority and NYC.

Yes, and the latest news is the Port Authority of NY and NJ basically walked away and told the Church they're on their own.

I rowed over and read the thread. If you go, you'll get a warm and fuzzy feeling at their pain and misery.

62. And here's crossing fingers he really didn't say that. *sigh*
That's right, DUmmy! Just pretend things are the way you want them.
Then, this guy, with the execrable user name:

22. You mean, people are still using Breitbart's videos?
Stalin here is suggesting that since it came from Breitbart, it didn't really happen. They obviously dubbed the words in over an old interview of Dean's. After which, all the DUmmies swarmed, filled with renewed hope that Dean didn't really say that.

31. Sources, guys...Sources!
Where is this information coming from? How did it get here? Who wrote it? What are his/her qualifications? Has it been peer reviewed? Was it paid for? What are the motivations the writer might have? Biases?
Is it just some blogger with a big mouth and plenty of time?
:lmao: Keep up janx, maybe turn on your teevee.
You should get out the boat. It's pretty funny.
