Will Pitt has thrown down the gauntlet - all but confirming a total loss for the Dems in November.

Do I think they'll take the Senate in 2010? No. The GOP will come close, however.
The House? Oh yeah.
Now what worries me is the fact that if the GOP DOES in fact take the House and possibly the Senate, this will force Obama to the center like it did to Clinton in 1994.
Before you say he's not adept enough or smart enough to do that, remember from where many of his handlers and a good many of his advisors came. It's not just about Obama--they want to stay in power as well, mind you.

If that were the case, Sparky, then they would be sensing the mood of the country now and moving to the center now. They'd have to be as blind as Ray Charles and deaf as Helen Keller not to do that, seeing that this time, people know what Obama is.
The Democrats are going by history, Clinton got re-elected because the Republicans gained power and the Republican agenda was adopted by Clinton hence his re-election, even though both times Clinton was elected he was elected with less than 50% of the vote, he was still re-elected, and this is what Democrats in Washington are banking on. What better way to get Pelosi out of power than have the party being voted out of power, the Democrats will have no blood on their hands.
Obama is too much of an idealogue. He will listen to his cronies ("Rev." Wright, Ayres, etc.) before Clinton's
Obama is too much of an idealogue. He will listen to his cronies ("Rev." Wright, Ayres, etc.) before Clinton's. Also, Sparky brought up a good point--a lot of the people in Obama's White House were there under Clinton. In Bill Clinton's eyes, Obama is the enemy, because the Obamessiah had the temerity to keep the Clintons out of the White House for another eight years. One thing that I've heard about Bill Clinton is this--he never forgets his friends, whether they be James Carville or George H. W. Bush (or George W. Bush for that matter--rumor was that Clinton and Bush were closer than Clinton and Gore), and he never forgives his enemies. Now, do you think that maybe the Clintons told said former employees that it would be alright to work for Obama . . . but to never forget just who got them there in the first place?
Just ponder that. It would be Bill Clinton's perfect revenge, with Chelsea positioning herself as an up-and-comer on the political scene.

I totally get what you're saying BUT you need to look at things going on now, IMO they view Pelosi as being somewhat responsible for the predicament that they're in (wrongfully so IMO, it's not only her) she needs to go, look how the establishment isn't sticking by Rangel and Waters, they're letting those 2 sink, I really think the establishment Democrats WANT to let Republicans take over, the far left Progressives need to be silenced hence Gibbs comments being made.
I thought for sure Hillary was going to challenge Obama in 2012, now I'm not so sure, rumors started going around that Biden would be replaced by Hillary in 2012, maybe that's what they want, they want to get Hillary's foot in the door, and some inconvenient things need to be taken care of and that's the far left, hence throwing Democrats like Rangel under the bus to get to their eventual goal, although Rangel and Waters were initially Hillary supporters so maybe Obama is throwing them under the bus for that reason.
I don't know, but I think there's an ulterior motive here somewhere, and I sure as heck don't trust Democrats at all. Maybe losing the House is the only way to wake Obama up to reality.

54. Hahahaha. All in good fun.
I think that they were right about that, though, 48 business hours or not.
I think Jason was right and that Will was right.
I think that somehow the criminal justice system was manipulated when they found out that the news got out about it and we knew about it beforehand and so they manipulated the system.
What does it take to make one phone call in this world anyway?
How long does it take to make a single phone call?
We knew what Rove was about -- he was a contestant on "Let's Make A Deal" long after that show had been cancelled.
He was guilty and we knew it.
History will record it that way, no matter what the newspapers said about it years ago.
Since when did newspapers print the truth, anyway?
Last time I saw a newspaper print a breaking story was in 1972.
And then they made a movie out of it.
I also think that Rove had someone reading what Jason was saying and probably even had someone assigned to read these forums at that time.
There was just too much manipulation going on to think that Jason and Will were wrong about that.
And I would stand in front of a firing squad to defend them for what they said.
Because BushCo was just that fricking bad.
I also think that Will is right about the House and Senate remaining in the Democrat's hands this fall because 98.2% of the incumbents are being reelected.
As for Obama being reelected in 2012, I'm not sure he really wants to do another 4 years in the White House.
I don't drink, but if I were to have a beer, I'd have one with President Obama.

I don't know if anything can "rescue" Obama for a second term, IF he continues on the same path he's been on since elected, but especially the last 6-8 months.
Making sure the health care bill was passed, with no one reading it, was just as much Obama as it was Pelosi. As people find out what's really in that thing....it will be one more thing to add to the list of "why not to re-elect Obama". Add in the additional monies we are going to be paying in taxes prior to receiving any so-called benefits, and the change to medicare should have an bigger effect on Independents than Dems.
If this mosque is actually built 2 blocks from Ground Zero....that will affect most people, but especially those in NY, and other NE states, and Washington DC. All "blue" areas that are densely populated. Anyone who was personally affected by 9/11 is going to remember that Obama said it should have been done, no matter how hard he tries to "take back his words" at a Ramadan dinner.
If the Dems go down in defeat in the Nov election...a lot of "die-hard" Dems are going to blame the Obama administration, particularly if Obama "campaigned" for the loser. They will blame him, because he hasn't followed through with his campaign promises, and because the loser is of the same party, they lost because they had a "D" after their name too.
These expensive trips they are taking are going to come back and bite them on the tush. Most people are going to agree that the president deserves time off. What's going to bite them is....the constant "preaching" from Obama and Michelle, about how we all need to tighten out belts....well duh!! What the hell has 95% of the country been doing for the last 18+ months. And how we need to support local businesses, go to the Gulf on vacation, support the American economy. I don't care what reason the WH chooses to throw out regarding Michelle's trip to Spain...none of them are going to hold up. She wanted to take the little one somewhere she hadn't been before - fine....I'm sure there are plenty of places in the United States that kid hasn't been too....unless it was on a campaign trail. I can't think of any place that would not have welcomed several hundred thousand spent in their community. To spend 27 HOURS in Florida...was nothing but an incredibly expensive photo op paid for by the tax payers. Now off to Martha's Vineyard on Thursday for 10 days. Please!!! If they had wanted to "set a good example", they could have gone back to Chicago for a week or to Camp David. While not exotic, from everything I've read about it, Camp David is nothing to sneeze at! These trips are going to bother even the Dems...they may not talk about it, but it's common human nature...that when being preached to, the preacher better be following his own words, or those who are sitting for the preachin' are going to start to question how come it's a "do as I say, not a do as I do".
Dems thought they were electing a president...not a dictator, but that's what they got. They have this vision of Utopia, and though they want it in theory and in benefits...they still donot want to be deprived of what they feel they are entitled to. Remember, many Dems feel that they are entitled. Many grew up in the 60's learning about "free to be"....because their parents were children of The Depression, mommy and daddy didn't want their children to work, worry or struggle for anything. They were allowed to do pretty much whatever they wanted. Now they aren't getting their promises fulfilled and Daddy (Obama) is getting all the perks and treats, and they ain't gettin' nuttin'.
The war hasn't ended. Gay marriage hasn't become an everyday legal right. DADT is still in effect in the military. No jobs. No help with mortgages (too few have been helped compared with those that need/ed it, to count). Gitmo is still open.
Those that would vote for him, are going to start getting pissed ....if they haven't started already.
Pretty soon, it isn't going to be ..."well look at all that he's accomplished" ...it's going to be....."he hasn't done anything he promised".
He has over 2 years to continue to screw up. Obama does not have the personality that will allow him to permanently alter his beliefs and thought processes. He was able to do it during the campaign...which is why he's continuing in campaign mode all over the countryside.....but he can't do it and sustain it 24/7, in Washington....too many people there want to see him trip.
