I hope other courts don't find this an acceptable sentence for criminal violations.

I think the House arrest was a creative Sentencing. Although I don't think she should be released when restitution is made in full. She should have to do a certain number of years.

The victim receives restitution , the state saves money. what's not to like about it.

No fear of punishment for the crooks. A liberal would love a sentence like this.

All the lives she has changed and not for the better and she just has to repay them money ??

She had her fun, gained lots of good memory's of trips, and the best clothing she could buy.

Now, what about her victims, she sucked the life out of their plans and dreams, educating their children, perhaps taking their own much scaled down vacation.

She on her own directed the path others would be going, robbed them of every thing they had worked for.    She kidnapped their lives and walked away just having to return money.

It will take 20+ years to return the money to the family's that she screwed over, so the cost of living will be so huge by then her victims will get 10 cents on the dollar for what she paid them.

This sentence is a slap in the face to the victims, Some may loose their homes, some may get divorced because of her actions.  Good kids that are smart and looking forward to a college education and find their parents have been wiped out may turn to other endeavors that will end them up in jail.

Home arrest is a joke, She needs to be placed in a prison so every day that goes by she is being reminded that she has destroyed many peoples lives to benift her own.

Any one remember why they hung horse thieves at one time.?

They don't even hang murderers anymore... all the ones I see on death row here have grey hair by the time the State gets around to carrying out the sentence.

We are mostly homebody people.  If I were sentenced to 21 years of house arrest, I'd be A-OK with it.  House arrest is such a dumb punishment.  It's like being grounded by mommy & daddy when you're 13 years old.

I dunno.  When I was grounded at 13, I was stuck in my room, and couldn't come out except to use the bathroom or eat.  There was no TV, Radio, or phone.  It sucked.

I wasn't grounded a lot but there were no other children in my neighborhood growing up, so I spent a lot of time reading.

I loved to read.  But I couldn't when I was grounded.  Nothing but my school books.  It was rough.

Wow, that's some serious grounding.  My parent's taste in books at the time really sucked -- it looked like they shopped for books at the dollar store,  but I got to go to the library at least once a week.  I always had something to read.

Court ordered house arrest wouldn't have those restrictions. Hell she probably has state paid high speed internet, full cable and unlimited cell phone service.

Yep!

There is probably a PS3 or XBox in that house as well.
