I can only imagine how nuts that situation got.  People get rowdy enough down here for a give-away at a Dolphins or Marlins game.  People get ridiculous when the word "free" is attached to anything.

30,000 line up for housing vouchers, some get rowdy

Thirty thousand people showed up to receive Section 8 housing applications in East Point Wednesday, suffering through hours in the hot sun, angry flare-ups in the crowd and lots of frustration and confusion for a chance to receive a government-subsidized apartment.

The massive event sometimes descended into a chaotic mob scene filled with anger and impatience. Some 62 people needed medical attention and 20 of them were transported to a hospital, authorities said. A baby went into a seizure in the heat and was stabilized at a hospital. People were removed on stretchers and when a throng of people who had been waiting hours in a line were told to move to another line, people started pushing, shoving and cursing, witnesses said.

Funny thing is Third World countries don't even have welfare because they are poor to begin with.

Looking at both sides of this----these are the very people that voted for Obama.  He PROMISED them a good future a life of Strawberry Fields Forever.

What can the people now do, they know that they were taken in by a Con man but they refuse to admit that fact.  To admit that one is so stupid to be taken in  goes against the EGO.

Seems like all politicians on both side have been watching and taking a page from the Obama book on how to befuddle the masses.

Every one wondering what he is going to do but---nothing happens.

We still do not know who this man is, where he came from or what his plan is for us.

Thank the Lord he came at this time, had he arrived on the scene in 1942, interesting life we would have now.

These idiots could wait in line (some overnight) to get on a wait list, but they can't take a couple of hours out of their day to submit resumes?

In their defense Womyn's studies and bong testing doesn't look to good on the old resume.  :-)

What is it with free loaders and their audacity to not only expect the govt to hand out cash they riot when they don't get it?

Thirty thousand people turned out in East Point on Wednesday seeking applications for government-subsidized housing, and their confusion and frustration, combined with the summer heat, led to a chaotic mob scene that left 62 people injured.

At the Tri-Cities Plaza Shopping Center, emergency vehicles passed each other, transporting 20 people to hospitals. Medical and police command posts were set up on scene. East Point police wore riot gear. Officers from four other agencies supported them. Yet no arrests were made.

All of this resulted from people attempting to obtain Section 8 housing applications and, against long odds, later securing vouchers for affordable residences. Some waited in line for two days for the applications.

Renee Gray, a single mother holding her one-year-old daughter, Marion, came looking for a housing break and nearly got trampled, forcing her to run from the crowd and into the street.

"It could have been better organized," said Gray, a customer service employee. "A lot of adults lost focus.”

Even if Obama can't draw a big crowd, his economy still can.
