Do you have a problem with a black man? Updated at 3:43 PM
That's the question that was asked of me today when I was trying to find someone to wash/wax my car for me (I'm a 64 year old grandmother, so don't judge me). Anyway, I figured the tire dealership where I trade might be able to recommend a place or someone to help me. As it turns out, there was a man working there who does this kind of work. But the owner felt he had to ask first, "Do yu have a problem with a blck man?" After I caught my breath, I said "Well, of course not." So he introduced me to a really nice man named Keith who will wash and wax my car for me tomorrow. Oh, by the way, his skin is dark so he must be black. Who knew?

My guess is she was wearing a DU t shirt so the man thought she must be racist. :-)

2. Per the 4 Agreeements: Take nothing
Personally. ;-) For all we know? He JUST got done dealing with a bigot who went up one side of him and down the other for NOT asking the question.

10. That's the way I looked at it, too. I imagine he has gotten his fair share of
"Why did you send me to that black feller?"

3. Okay, clearly the owner is not a racist or he wouldn't hire the man or recommend him, and
it is well known by now that most of the teapartiers are elderly and white and racist, and bravo to the owner for being well informed about that because it indicates he is in touch with left-of-center information and facts. I think you were just profiled in a way. He is looking at you, seeing a potential teabagger, and trying to protect himself and his employee from problems, should you happen to have been one of those.
I'm wondering what state you live in? I know around here, one of the top three reddest states, I could easily see a left-of-center owner doing exactly that. Perhaps ungraceful, but easier to deal with that, than to have "her", if she/you were in fact a hard RWinger, insult his employee upon seeing that he was black/darker.
Wait I thought libs didn't profile isn't that what has your panties all bunched up in the AZ law that prohibits racial profiling?

I guess your assessment would be understandable, but I DO hate to be profiled as an elderly, white, racist. The guy and I hit it off great and he knew from the beginning that I'm not a bigot. I'm still shocked that the incident even happened. I so wanted this type of thing to be over in the 60's. :hi:
I'm tired of being profiled as a racist for the reason that I do not worship at the alter of Obama.

7. Your Story Reminds Me of Another My Own Story
I went to business school with a guy, a conservative asshat, who owned his own landscapping business, and he once told me that he couldn't staff certain jobs with this one guy because he was African American.
umm wouldn't the customers be the bigots not your conservative asshat friend who obviously hired the black man?

11. What if you said you did have a problem with a black man ?
i wonder if he would have had someone else do the job or just refused to do the job.
but only reason he would ask this is if he had a lot of other people who had problems when they saw it was a black guy.

Hmmmmm,........racist much, you stupid DUmmies!?!?!? Jumping to conclusions are we?! :loser:

I give that one one bong. Not for any originality, but for the sheer fact of three bouncies in one post.
Congrats FLyellowmutt, Worse Tomorrow and Geek4 primitives.
And, seriously?
it is well known by now that most of the teapartiers are elderly and white and racist, and bravo to the owner for being well informed about that because it indicates he is in touch with left-of-center information and facts.
Facts and information are forbidden by law to be with 100 words of progressive, democrat or left of center.

This never happened. This, as in all bouncy's, are a convoluted way to show that they are far superior to Conservatives in all facets of life.
In this tale, it is to imply that we are racists and that the elderly moonbat has the moral high ground.
No I'm not afraid of the evil scary black man in the White House. I didn't vote against him because of his skin color. I voted against him because he's a socialist/democrat.liberal.
As my signature points out, I can't be racist, I hate his white half too!

Tea Party people are elderly, white, and racist?
I will be 27 on Monday, very white (not much of a tan this year), but I'm not a racist.
Nice way to stereotype.

Pammy!!!!! How ya doin'??? :-)

I can think of some small towns, in some of the counties around here, that it's possible that this could happen....particularly IF the woman looked a lot older than her early 60's, and she was alone, and she was looking for someone to do work on/in her house.
But I kind of doubt that any of the women, in those areas, would be looking for anybody to be washing their car. They'd just let the rain do it, just like it does on those other cars in their yards...up on concrete blocks. :uhsure:
6 years ago, a month or so before we moved into our house, I came by to measure some rooms and the wife says..."oh by the way, the people building the house next door.... are black, will that be a problem?" Huh?
I was pretty stunned that someone would even make a comment like that, but it was an issue for her.

Okay, leaving aside for a minute that the only wax & wash places I know of I just pull up and have it done, never in my life had to make an appointment because they're "first come, first served", let's break this puppy down.
This business owner, for reasons we don't know, but we're pretty sure it involves racism because 1) these always, but always happen to DUmmies almost exclusively and 2) while I'm sure it's just coincidence these kind of things seem to happen in droves when it's the topic du jour in the media...thinks FIRST to ask if she'd mind a black man washing her car. As this is NOT normal for any business except maybe the KKKar Wash & Donut shop (think Robert Byrd was the manager here when he was young) or the Skinhead Roadkill Bar & Grill, we can only assume the owner must be hypersensitive when it comes to race. Because other than DUmmies and the above mentioned groups, it would never occur to most people to even think, "Gee, I only want lily white boys polishing my knob (on my Cadillac, I mean)."
(As an aside, wouldn't a real racist be okay with a black man washing his car since, had this been the early 19th century said dark skinned fellow would probably be picking Cadillac's cotton and this is about as close as servitude as we can get in the 21st century?)
So back to our polishing...we're still waiting for the cop to jump out of the bushes, but he's probably in the donut shop buying powdered donuts (cuz they're white, duh) so we'll have to deal with this on our own. Because it's SO important we all want desperately to believe these kinds of things happen as often as they're reported because to think otherwise would shatter our simple black & white world view, we've got to find a way to twist ourselves in more ways than a pretzel on crack to make this work. Okay, let me think...nuance, nuance, nuance...ah, car wash man MUST be a progressive who is just trying to be "kind" to his racist cracker customers and a whole damn tribe of 'em had come through that morning requesting Billy Bob and not Bubba wash and polish their car.
Car wash man sees ELDERLY, WHITE person and of course, being a progressive he certainly doesn't buy into stereotypes like "this person is a racist because..." but those old people probably have ancestors who were slave owners and racial prejudice is one of the few things that actually DOES trickle down. And there was that one rally up north there where those racist teabaggers were spitting on those black congressman and calling him the "n" word. Just because there were tons of video phones filming the event, even one guy walking with the congressmen who had 2 in his hand, there's absolutely no proof and some rightwing nutjob offered $100,000 for proof doesn't mean it didn't happen. It HAD to happen because our president is a black man. So car wash dude decided to profile you according to age and race, it's okay to do this as long as it's a white person he's looking at. So he puts on his hat of tolerance, channels Malcolm X, reaches through the dark side of the force where those racist teabaggers go when they aren't carrying those racist signs protesting our president and tries to feel whether you're a racist. As we all know, the dark side clouds everything so it's really best to assume white people of a certain age think they get cooties when a black man touches their car. Best to be safe as he doesn't want to get sued for assaulting someone's tender sensibilities.
Finally, after having to twist ourselves three ways from Sunday does the cop come out of the donut shop, wiping white powder off his dark blue uniform. At least he's eating a chocolate frosted one this time. Still, there's never a cop around when you need one to jump out of the bushes.

51, male, white, conservative, and MY boss is black. Come to think of it, I don't even notice that he is black.
Does that make me a racist, because I DON'T notice his race?

Racism. Racism. Endless racism.
The commies have raped the treasury and are driving the country into the ground and so desperately need a distraction. Watch for an October surprise involving race that will nearly tear this country apart. Blacks found hanging from trees after a supposed Tea Party event? Nothing is out of bounds when Marxist lust for power.
-
Do you have a problem with a black man? ...Well, there is this one black, male, Muslim, communist in particular that I have a problem with....but other than that ....not so much.

What it does...is make you closer to the kind of person Dr. King envisioned having in this country than all of the DUmmies put together.
