Prez: "When you want to go forward in a car, what do you do? You put it in “D.”

Excerpt from remarks by the President at a DSCC Finance Event in Dallas, Texas

___ You know, I’ve been using the analogy of the folks who drove the car into the ditch. And so we decided, you know what, we’re going to do the responsible thing. We put on our boots, we got into the mud, we got into the ditch. We pushed, we shoved, we’re sweating. They’re standing on the sidelines sipping a Slurpee -- sort of watching us, saying, “Well, you’re not pushing hard enough,” or “Your shoulder is not positioned the right way,” giving us a whole bunch of advice on how to push -- not lifting a finger to help.

And finally we get this car up back on the road again, and finally we’re ready to move forward again. And these guys turn around and say, “Give us the keys.” Well, no, you can’t have the keys back -- you don’t know how to drive. You don’t know how to drive.

They don’t know how to drive. And I also want to point out, by the way, when you want to go forward in a car, what do you do? You put it in “D.” When you want to go backwards, you put it in “R.” We cannot go backwards -- we’ve got to move forwards. That’s what we’re fighting for in this election -- moving forwards . . .

Yeah DUmmies when you're heading towards an economic cliff, and you're almost at that point of no return, jam it in drive and put the petal to the metal.

For the record, this is the pic of Lord Zero that the DUmmie included in the OP. Not very flatterring, he looks more like a moron.

1. Obama should go to South Dakota where they are unpaving roads and

replacing them with gravel roads to make this point. The Repubs are dragging this country backwards with their 18th century ideas and simpleton reasoning. This country will turn into Sudan with another half century of Republican rule.

You idiot, they are doing that to save money.  They are trying to NOT spend taxpayers money that they don't have.

7. How cool

I used this D and R analogy in the local paper LTTE recently.
Now the pres repeats it...perfect.
I also call him commander and chief as often as possible.
That title seems to really grate on the pukes.

Only because he is not fit to fill those shoes.

8. I put my car in First. There is no D on my car.

That might burn up the tranny if you never shift out of first.

Obama actually said that? hmmm, months ago a poster on another board had a siggy that said something like to move forward you put the car in (D), so I made up a siggy that said "When driving over a cliff do you put the car in (D) or (R)". It's so silly if Obama did say that because it's so easily refutable.

Real great, Moron In Charge, a $41,000 car that can only go 60 miles before it needs re-charged! Anyone here afford a $41,000 clown car? Didn't think so!

Funny, the only place I've heard of this happening is Michigan under Jennifer Granholm.

Great cartoon, HFB.  Whoever came up with this tired cliched joke must have known it could have been turned on them like this.  If they didn't know, they were just stupid.

Yoink.  Too late dudette.   I already did and then sent it to two of my most prolific emailers.  I'd love to see that one go viral.  My guess being laughed at is one thing which goes down sideways with O-bumble.

I have it as a siggy already, just had to tweak the size a bit, I'll post it at another board also. I would post it at FR but I hate doing vanity posts.

Try anywhere from 10-20k more than that.  Some California dealers are selling the cars at a premium because of moonbat demand and low availability.

Leading to the Government Motor's marketing slogan: It takes a real dolt to buy or sell a Volt? :evillaugh:

Yea, I was just goin' by Rushes low end sticker price. He brought up the fact you could buy a low end Mercedes for the same price as this go cart! Which would you rather have, an M or lawn mower driven Turd, for that kinda money?

The car costs 41k, the battery however will set you back another 20k.  :-)

40 miles, actually.

The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single charge.  Followed by 24 more.
