"God bless America that [Bush is] back in the conversation," said a senior Democratic official. "It's a blessing from the heavens. If this becomes a referendum on George Bush, we are in a much better spot than anyone could imagine."
Nancy Pelosi, the House Speaker, handed her Democrat colleagues a card suggesting "lines of attack" for the mid-term campaign.
One suggested line was: "Republicans are trying to take us back to the same failed Bush economic policies that cost us eight million jobs."
Robert Menendez, the New Jersey senator who is heading the Democratic Senatorial Campaign committee, said: "The reality is that people associate the Bush era as an economic failure. The question is, 'Do we move forward, away from those economic policies?'"
Over the past week, Mr Obama has increasingly returned to attacking Mr Bush during a series of fundraising events for the democrats across the country.
"They don't have a single idea that's different from George Bush's ideas - not one," the President said during speeches in Atlanta and Chicago.

The PEOPLE are getting tired of the same old tune...."Bush did it".
The best thing the Dems can do is to play this tune.....after 3 months, the people will hate it.
Kinda like when I was in college, "American Pie" came out, thought it was a fun song. Until I was in a car for 20 hours, hearing it played every other song. By the time, the trip was over, I hated that song!
This will be the same way.
People want to KNOW what the Dems are going to do differently to change the mistakes/lack of change they have done the last 2 years.
Things have become worse, not better, and the people want to know WHY....blaming Bush doesn't work anymore. Not for those who were doing well, or even just ok, prior to Obama taking office. They want those elected to make things better....NOW. The people want to know HOW things are going to get better,
Continuing to blame Bush, will make the majority turn the channel, look for a different tune....the GOP needs to have a different tune to play. However, based on how elections went around here, this past week, just BEING A GOP was enough to defeat a Dem.

TEA party candidates have banged a few Bush style RINOs out of the race. By attempting to foster dissent, you have illustrated to everyone how not like Bush the TEA party is.. Too late to unring that bell now, dopes.

The TEA party is far more populist, and is attractive to a younger demographic.
The TEA party platform appeals to women, far more than Bush era Republicanism did.
HOWEVER, with all the continuation of Bush era policies and procedures, combined with total economic incompetence, your guys look more and more like the Bush caricatures you created since 2000. Too bad, primitives.
