DOUG'S STUPID EX-WIFE, #03 TOP PRIMITIVE OF 2009
Original message

Hey, I talked to my son today and he sounds really good.

He was in court on Monday and apparently, the bacon bits have dropped 6 of 7 felony counts if he'll plead to one, and a lesser one at that. All I can think is, he must have pissed them all off royally. He's been in prison since October for possession for sale (weed) and they tried to pile on all these weird weapons and assault charges for weapons he's never owned or had and for assault when he wasn't even there and all kinds of insane stuff. All of those got dumped out.

In any case, on 9/20, he'll either be released or the judge will refuse the deal and then, they'll just go back with a similar one that the judge will not be able to nix again.

That's all the inside stuff. I felt a lot of relief today because he sounds steady as a rock. He's gone for everything offered there - a job, classes, the rehab program. He's read more in this last year than at any other time in his life. My mom says he looks very fit, too.

This year, omg. I've felt like someone is trying to kill me. But he seems to be managing it just fine. Not easily but with a kind of resilience that I'm not sure he knew he had.

He'll be out in time for his birthday in October. I really want him not to go back to live in that county, for one thing. Six weeks to pitch the idea.

It was good to find out that he was as tough as he needed to be to surf this. That's good information for a parent to have. What a relief.

5. Thank you.

I'm still going to try to pitch art school to him. Or even, an evening class or two, whatever the gradient is that he can approach. Nick started drawing about the same time he was talking in whole sentences.

Whatever he does, he's pissed off too many LEOs to stay in that county. I don't even know the whole story but it sounds like he pissed them off by disappearing from the radar for about a year. They're not going to forget that any time soon. It would just be prudent not to tempt anyone with a moving target.

LEO's and bacon bits?

Yup, you can tell just how much respect for officers of law she must have instilled in her son  :loser:

LEO's and bacon bits?

I'm with you.... I could tell from the context that they were police slurs, but I've never heard them before.  Heck, I'm the mom who wouldn't let my kids say "cop" until one came to their school for a presentation and said, "I'm a cop."  Didn't that used to show disrespect?  I'm getting old I guess.

Yep, that's how I was brought up. Cop was a derogatory term. I'd have got slapped!

Eventually they started equating it with Chief Of Police, and all was well with the world, I guess.

LEO is not a slur... it stands for Law Enforcement Officer.... LEO's use it to refer to themselves.

When I was in Jr. High, a cop came to give us a talk.. He told us that PIG stands for Perseverance, Integrity, and Guts.  :hyper:

I think the reference to "bacon bits" was the slur we were talkin' about.

It does lose a lot in the translation though, when it's being used by someone as stupid and uncivilized as the ÜberPrimitive Beth.

After all, when a dog pisses on a fire hydrant, it's not disrespecting fire fighters, it's just being a dog.

GREAT analogy! That's a "Hall of Famer"!!!

Yet more proof that the stupid doesn't fall far from the stupidest person on all of the internet.

Yeah art school, that's a good idea. Surely he'll earn enough income drawing caricatures of tourists lazily strolling along fisherman's wharf to keep his ass out of trouble. Good job, Beth, giving your son practical advice to help him become a productive citizen. And then thinking he'll want to live with you in your trailer on mommy's property. He'd be better off dealing weed than living with someone so crazy and stupid even her comedian ex husband couldn't find any good material anymore.
