Obama is not the Nominee yet, so Shut the **** up with this Presumptive Nominee Bullshit
Edited on Mon Mar-24-08 04:06 PM by hnmnf
1. It is still possible for Hillary to be the nominee. While I dont think she can pass him im the pledged delegates, she still may pass him in the popular vote and could still get the superdelegates to side with her and make her the nominee. I remember when I warned against declaring Clinton dead before Texas and Ohio, and I was mocked. Well, I turned out to be right, that too many of us were uneccesarily righting Clinton off and as a result had egg all over their face. As the Rev. Wright story shows us, anything can happen in this race.
2. This talk really is nothing but divisive. Its arrogant and doenst do anything to help advance the conversation here at DU. Id like for the Clinton supporters to stay around here, but if the ever increasing arrogance and overconfidence of Obama supporters is turning me off, I can hardly imagine what it is doing to them
Carry on.\
Edit: I ****ed up the title, but its fixed now :-)

he looks pretty presumptive to me. but the presumption is that this thread won't last very long. :hammer: :-)

There are 689 delegates left between eight states and two territories. She'd have to win really, really big to beat BO in the delegate count and that's just not going to happen. As far as the superdelegates go, I think they should put the Dem's convention on PPV and let them fight it out.

29. there is no such thing as a "popular vote" in a Primary that includes caucuses
I think caucuses are retarded, too, but they are what they are.

I actually have a solution to this one. have the superdelegates vote in a closed session via secret ballot. that would give them whatever political cover they need to vote for whomever they think could win, and ignore this asinine wave of ignorant sentiment that has forced them into nominating a total neophyte.
honestly, at this point, if I was a dem, I would be kissing al gore's ass to offer himself as an alternative.
but . . . if The BarackStar! doesn't win, will LA burn? :-)

I thought they did that already. Are superdelegate votes public?
If they don't nominate B.O., there's gonna be a LOT of angry black Democrats.

nah. about half of them are "publicly committed", but they can change their mind at any time.
and there will be a lot of pissed off wimmins if hillary doesn't get the nomination. "We would have won if florida and michigan hadn't been disenfranchised!!! count every vote!!!"
-
Wow, I didn't realize that they were at each other's throats over Hillary and B.O.
And isn't B.O. supposed to unite them :rotf:
McCain vs. B.O.... what a concept. I haven't paid a lick of attention to this since Romney dropped out.
-
BarackStar supporters vs. Hillbots? Well, it's no different than their candidates ripping each other apart while McCain smartly stays silent.
Keep at it, DUmmies and Dems. Y'all are going to give McCain the Presidency, at this rate. :-)

But what you're not seeing, sir, is that the Obamanation likewise needs to win really big--not quite as big as Messalina Agrippina, but really big anyway--to get the required delegates.
I'm not sure where the percentages are right now, but a couple of weeks ago, Messalina Agrippina needed 97% of the remaining delegates. The Obamanation needed 75% of the remaining delegates.
After which the Mississippi primary, which the Obamanation won, but the Obamanation didn't get anything like 75% of the delegates there; he got only 18 or 20 out of 32, I think.
I think it's Great Fun watching this, and watching what the Obamanation isn't watching.

I can't wait to see how this train wreck ends :-)

while the dems are arguing about spunk stains on cheap dresses, mccain is traveling the globe polishing his national security credentials, raising money, and generally watching the opposition emasculate themselves.

I don't want it to end! :-) :evillaugh: :rotf:  :lmao: :loser:

There's also no such thing as the popular vote in the General Election, either. It matters zilch, yet that doesn't stop their whining on behalf of "President Gore".
