As expected, The Washington Post Company will sell Newsweek to audio equipment impresario Sidney Harman, AdAge reported, and PaidContent has confirmed. As we noted last week, the bid from the 91-year-old Harman, the husband of Democratic Congresswoman Jane Harman, had the most appeal to WaPo Chairman Donald Graham because the audio pioneer was willing to keep 250 of the 325 Newsweek employees on staff. As for the bid, Harman offered $1 and the acceptance of Newsweek’s liabilities, which are estimated to be about $70 million.

I don't know which is funnier, the sale price or that the buyer is married to a Democrat Congresscritter.

Well, that fish wrapper was so deep in debt, that offering to pay the guy to take NewsWeak off their hands would have been a useless gesture.

I knew Jane Harman was old, but HOLY SHIT!!! 91 year old hubby? Was he cradle robbing or something?

They gave it away to avoid Newsmax from buying it. If that happened, for once when they say right wing media, they would be right.
It put the fear of God in them.
