If there ever is a simple solution for the vast inequality in the distribution of wealth,it is this
Tax all inheritance income beyond $ 100,000 at a rate of 100%
That way any rich schmuck can then convincingly argue that they earned their position in life , rather than having it handed to them.

Great idea you will kill the mom and pop businesses you claim to care about.
Not to mention that money was already taxed and belongs to someone else not you, not the govt, it belongs to whoever the owner of that wealth decides should get it.

1. If you set the threshold that low, you'll be socking mostly middle class people
You would effectively be saying that a working person would be unable to inherit the house that is owned by a parent who dies.
Your argument makes sense. Your numbers do not.
Yep better tweak it so we only steal from the uber rich.

6. no no no
my mom's house is valued at 125k.I should give it up to the state when she dies ?The state should seize all her belongings?
You are a liberal so if you practice what you preach for others than yes, you should be denied any possessions that you may get bequeathed. Oh I forgot liberals only want that to happen to other people.

It never fails to amuse me that these people think if such a scheme is brought into reality , they'll all get a nice fat check.
Reality is baby gets nothing and all that money goes straight to the government to be pissed away in a manner that only a massive socialist apparatus can do.
Some of them actually realize this and still support the idea because they can't stand to see anyone with anything more than their own self.

To most of the cheeto munching pot smoking goons at DU anything over 50k is too much wealth.

Yes, let's see all the rich Democrats go along with this 1st and see how it works out.

Like John "I was in Viet Nam and committed war crimes" Kerry who was shamed into finally paying his boat taxes.

Not likely to be a popular idea even over there, since for most of them, their only chance for ultimate financial stability is either winning Powerball, or receipt of a large unanticipated inheritance, and they can't afford the Powerball tickets.

9. one mill is a good number
a decent home in a city is WELL over your 100k platform.Everything should be seized by the government when someone dies?
Talk about a fascist state
OK, now I'm mad, what freaking right does the Government have to step in and seize the hard earned wealth, in a majority of cases, and take it?
I'm really really really getting freaking fed up with a segment of Americans who have dollar envy. Get off your butts and work, and if you want more wealth than work 2 jobs and or go to school to improve yourselves, make sacrifices. To sit back and do nothing but seethe is really getting on my nerves.

He was for the taxes before he was against them.

It is fascist when it can apply to you but not when you wish to apply it to someone you deem too wealthy.
Eat sh!t and die you miserable idiot.

Which is rather ironic, considering that back in March, when Kerry was taking delivery of his new yacht, he was applauding passage of legislation designed to end “blatant tax evasion.â€
The new law, Kerry said, would put an end to a system that allowed “powerful people to hide assets abroad and evade our tax laws.â€
“It repulsed me,†he continued, rather dramatically, “that while the average American plays by the rules and pays taxes, some of the biggest corporations avoid paying their fair share.â€

Oh yeah -- that will work..
Government Lackey: 'sir, it seems we are going to be nearly a trillion short to balance the budget - the voters will make us pay dearly if we don't keep that promise'
Government: 'Thats unfortunate news.. as it is also unfortunate that Warren Buffet had fallen out of that window, and George Soro's plane just went down '
Government Lackey: ' sir, neither of those things....'
Government: 'I said, "Its unfortunate that Warren Buffet had fallen out of that window, and George Soro's plane just went down.. " '
Government Lackey: 'Yes, sir.'

Democrats can be just as blatant warmongers as anyone--when it's class warfare, anyway.
