2012 Election is here.
Are the Democrats going to back Obama or another Democrat in 2012?
Has it happened that a sitting President has lot the support of his political party? Yes, it has, in the late 18th to early 19th century.

I still think Hillary is a threat, at least it's a battle I'd like to see repeated :naughty:

I have heard that there is a possibility that Hillary could run against Obama and win the nomination in 2012.

Not a huge stretch. Remember, Dead Ted nearly beat Carter in the 1980 primaries.

Doesn't really matter who they pick....the DUmmies will fall in behind them.

While I think it's entirely plausable for the Dems to pick Hillary, what happens then is the black vote--reflexively for Obama and the Dems--is lessened. It would be a repudiation of "America's Black President" by the party that claims to be for the black population of the USA. While a fair number of them would "hold their noses" and vote for the Dem anyway, there's also a fair number of them that would stay home, because their President had been dissed by the Dem establishment.
I've got a link to a story, that I'll post in a thread all its' own, that demonstrates another part of the Dems' problem with the 2012 election cycle . . .

I look at it this way--if Hillary steps down as SecState after the midterms, it's ON.

It's entirely possible. There have been a variety of signals from the Clintonistas this Summer that they might go off the reservation.

Indeed - Its what I have been expecting around the beginning of 2011 - retirement to be closer to family -- then It's On Like Donkey Kong !
