Title: Boat Crashes Into Oil Well, Creating New Spill in Gulf of Mexico

A tugboat or other workboat collided with the well near Bayou St. Dennis, La., shearing off its valve structure and releasing pressurized natural gas and light oil, DHS official Deano Bonano told Fox News.

Cleanup workers are currently booming off the area and the scene at sea has been taken over by federal agents. The U.S. Coast Guard, Jefferson Parish police and fire officials, as well as Vessels of Opportunity boats have all been dispatched to the scene.

Oil is spewing about 20 feet in the air from the severed 4-inch pipe, a contractor who flew over the leak told Fox News. The area has been evacuated and civilian boats are being told not to enter the scene, where "a fair bit of oil" is leaking out, the contractor said.

There is also a big leak in Chinese waters. Bad year for drilling industry.

Good year for leak detection and repair.

This outta be relatively easy to fix I'd think.  It's not 5,000 feet under water for one...

But first , several commissions must be formed to study the leak. Then any solutions must have committees established to see if they are harmful to the environment.  I think Lord Zero should have this stopped by election time.....

4 inch well, the BP Well was 21 inch. No more unusual that the "gusher" used to be. AND, it is not even on fire!

Anyone niotice, except for the oil already on land, the BP oil seems to be MIA? Are there billions and billions of oil munching moon microbes somewhere in the deep burping?

I figure a 6-month moratorium on boating ought to do it.

I did hear on Fox this morning that it had gone missing!!

The reporter said that there were planes up and looking all over for it. They don't know if the tropical storm or whatever it was...disbursed it, move it, or it sunk.

Some environmentalists are claiming the deadly dispersant has caused the oil to suspend at a middling depth, but will still wash up eventually.  Personally, I think the other chemicals in the ocean have brought it to life and intelligence.  Soon there will be this massive slick attacking ships and ports alike.

I'm beginning to think that these "accidents" aren't quite so accidental.

I am so glad to hear you say that....I was beginning to think I needed to be wearing a tin hat.  :hi5:

I have never thought the first one was an accident, now with this one ...that's been there for some period of time, suddenly gets hit...requiring a 2 mile radius around it, and that radius just happens to block the clean-up boats from going back out to the original area?

First well may have been an accident. Two? Too coincidental for me.
